How to install printer in general billing system
Step 1: Connect the printer to the host, turn on the printer's power supply, enter the printer and fax folder through the host's "control panel", click the right mouse button in the blank, and select the "Add Printer" command to open the wizard window for adding printers. Select "Local printer connected to this computer" and select the "Automatically detect and install plug and play printers" check box.

Step 2: At this time, the host will test the new printer and find the connected printer soon. According to the prompt, put the driver CD that came with the printer into the CD-ROM drive. After installing the printer driver, the printer icon will appear in the Printers and Faxes folder.

Step 3: Right-click the icon of the newly installed printer, select the command "* * * Enjoy", open the printer properties dialog box, switch to the "* * * Enjoy" tab, select "* * * Enjoy this printer", and fill in the name you want to enjoy in the "* * * Enjoy" input box, such as CompaqIJ, and click ".

Tip: If we want other versions of the operating system in the LAN to enjoy the host printer, we can install the drivers corresponding to these different versions of the selected operating system on the host in advance. Just click the "Other Drivers" button, select the corresponding operating system version, and then click "OK" to install.

2. Configure the network protocol

In order to make the enjoyment of the printer smoother, we must install the "file and printer enjoyment agreement" on both the host and the client.

Right-click My Network Places on the desktop, select the Properties command, enter the Network Connections folder, right-click the Local Area Connection icon, and then select the Properties command. If "Microsoft Network Files and Printers * * *" is not found in the "This connection uses the following items" list on the General tab, you need to click Install.

3. Installation and configuration of the client

Now, we have finished all the work on the host, and now we need to configure the client that needs to enjoy the printer. We assume that the client is also a Windows XP operating system. Every computer in the network that wants to use a printer must have a print driver installed.

Step 1: Click "Start → Settings → Printers and Faxes" to start the "Add Printer Wizard" and select the "Network Printer" option.

Step 2: There are several ways to add a network printer to the Specify Printer page. If you don't know the specific path of the network printer, you can choose "Browse Printer" to find the printer shared by the same workgroup in the LAN and the computer with the printer installed, then select the printer and click "OK"; If you already know the network path of the printer, you can enter the network path of the printer in the format of Universal Naming Convention (UNC) for accessing network resources, such as "James Compaqij”(James is the user name of the host), and finally click" Next ".

Step 3: At this point, you will be asked to enter the printer name again. When finished, click the Next button, and then click the Finish button. If the host has set a password for * * * *, you need to enter the password here. Finally, we can see that the * * * printer icon has appeared in the "Printers and Faxes" folder of the client, and our network printer has been installed here.

4. Make the printer safer

If we stop here, illegal users in the LAN may also take the opportunity to use the printer, thus causing the printing cost to "climb". In order to prevent illegal users from enjoying the printer at will, it is necessary to restrict the users of the printer by setting account access rights. By setting the security properties of the printer installed on the host, you can specify that only legitimate accounts can use the printer.

Step 1: Right-click the * * printer icon in the "Printers and Faxes" folder of the host computer, select the "Properties" option from the right-click menu, and switch the "Security" tab in the next * * * printer property setting box.

Step 2: In the option setting page to be opened later, select "Everyone" in the Name list, and select "Print" as "Rejected" in the corresponding Permission list, so that no user can access the printer at will.

Step 3: Click "Add" to import the legal account that can use the * * * printer into the "Name" list, then select the imported legal account and select the corresponding printing permission as "Allow".

Repeat the third step, import all other legal accounts that need to use the * * * printer, set their printing permission to "Allow" in turn, and then click "OK".

Tip: If you can't find the Security tab, you can choose Tools → Folder Options → View in the folder menu bar to cancel "Enjoy Simple Files * * *".
