The 128th plenary session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) voted on the afternoon of July 31 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to give Beijing the right to host the 2022 Winter Olympics. Beijing has become the "first city in Olympic history" to host both the Summer and Winter Games.
