Chopsticks, also known as chopsticks, are the main dining tools in Chinese catering. For a long time, human beings have also formed some etiquette when using chopsticks, as follows:
(1) The etiquette of setting chopsticks at dinner. Chopsticks come in pairs. Chopsticks of the same length, the same color and the same quality should be used on the same dining table. They should be placed neatly, and one should not be placed horizontally or vertically. Chopsticks should be placed with their heads inward, on a chopstick rack or on their own dishes, with their big heads flush with the table edges.
(2) the etiquette of holding food with chopsticks. When holding food with chopsticks, don't "hold chopsticks indefinitely". Don't pick food from the plate, don't tear the fish in your mouth with chopsticks, and don't poke the dishes with chopsticks as forks. When picking vegetables, you should pay attention to avoid the chopsticks of other guests. Put down chopsticks when talking at the dinner table, and never use chopsticks to make gestures. It's rude and ill-bred to raise chopsticks in front of others and make them dance around the table.
(3) How to hold chopsticks. Use your right hand to hold chopsticks. If you don't distinguish between your left and right hands, chopsticks will "fight" when eating or taking food. Hold chopsticks in a moderate position, not too high or too low.
(4) the etiquette of using chopsticks at dinner. Take chopsticks with care, don't throw them casually, and don't knock the table and bowl with chopsticks before the dishes are served. Because people in China think that knocking on bowls and plates with chopsticks is a way for beggars to beg. When you don't use chopsticks at dinner, you should align them, put them on your own taste dish or on the right side of your own cup, and don't put them on the public dish or in front of the guests next to you.
(5) There are some taboos when using chopsticks, such as: Don't put chopsticks vertically in bowls or dishes, because this is a common rule when offering sacrifices; When you stop using chopsticks during dinner, don't put them horizontally on the flavor plate, which will make the host misunderstand that the food tastes terrible and you don't want to eat it; Avoid using chopsticks to pick up vegetables; Avoid using chopsticks that stick to rice to hold another dish; Don't pick your teeth with chopsticks.
