Fujian Province is the transportation hub in the East China Sea and the South China Sea, the starting point of the Maritime Silk Road and Zheng He's voyages to the West in history, and also the distribution center of maritime commerce.
eastern Fujian: refers to the vast area in the middle and lower reaches of the Minjiang River in eastern Fujian and the mountainous areas in the northeast, bordering the Taiwan Province Strait and the East China Sea, and administratively including Fuzhou and Ningde. central Fujian: refers to Putian and parts of Sanming. Sanming City has jurisdiction over Sanyuan District and Shaxian District, including 9 cities and counties of Yong 'an City, Youxi County, Datian County, Mingxi County, Qingliu County, Ninghua County, Shaxian County, Taining County, Jiangle County and Jianning County.
