The main cultural landscapes in Zizhong County are: the spring rhyme of the Lingya Cliff in Chonglong Mountain and the Cliff Statue in Beiyan, the Confucian Temple, the Wumiao Temple, the Dongyue Temple, the Yongqing Temple and a street in the Qing Dynasty, the Dadongmen Tower in the Southern Song Dynasty, the Kanroji in the Tang Dynasty (famous for its murals), the Twin Towers in the Tang Dynasty and the ancient town of Luoquan (now a provincial-level historical and cultural town). The main natural landscapes in the territory are White Cloud Gorges Scenic Area (listed as Baiyun Scenic Area, the 13th largest forest scenic spot in Sichuan Province), luoquan Karst Cave Group and Qingmeishan Karst Cave with peculiar landscapes, and Jiulong Gorge and Longjiang Lake Scenic Area. At present, Zizhong is the county with the richest tourism resources in Neijiang City.
Tiefo Town is an ancient town under provincial protection. Located 36 kilometers west of Zizhong County, the ancient town was built in the fifty-third year of Qingganlong (1788). The settlement is like a sickle, with a population of about 2,111. In the Qing Dynasty, the east-west direction of the old street was slightly curved, and it was laid out in three layers according to the mountain situation. Nine stone steps went up the street and passed through three gates, one floor at a time, with distinct layers.
Residential buildings still maintain the architectural features in the middle of Qing Dynasty. Most of the units have patios or gardens. Most of the houses are made of wood or brick with tenon structure. The eaves, bucket arches and overhangs are exquisitely carved. The wind and fire walls extend to the street edge, and the upper part extends to the street center along the brick bucket arches, and eaves beams, blue tile roofs and eaves are carved with patterns. The new street built in 1918 extends directly to the south, and the building is unique. From the applicable function of the ancient town architecture, it is obvious that the predecessors have been carefully planned. The street twists and turns along the slope with the stone ladder, and there are some platforms for rest and swing in the middle. A beautiful bank up wall stands between houses, and the partial houses are from tile to wall, from window to ridge. Everything is so harmonious and natural, which is a special case of building a town on sloping land.
Zizhong Confucian Temple, a provincial cultural relic protection unit, was built in the 9th year of Qing Daoguang (AD 1829). Sitting facing south, the building area is 5111 square meters, imitating the pattern of Confucius Temple in Qufu, Shandong Province. There are Wan Ren Palace Wall, Moon Pool inside and outside, Lingxingmen, Dachengmen, Bell and Drum Tower, East and West hatchbacks, Dachengdian and Chongsheng Temple. Glazed roofs, red walls and yellow tiles, resplendent and antique, are quite well preserved so far, and are famous tourist attractions.
Confucius, a great thinker, politician and educator in ancient China, was also the founder of Confucianism. His contribution to the Chinese nation's ideology, culture, education and politics is enormous and deserves people's respect. In addition, all previous dynasties were awarded the supreme titles of "Great Master" and "King of Wenxuan", so Zhouzhou built Confucian temples and counties offered sacrifices to Confucius.
The zhaobi of Zizhong Confucian Temple was built in Tongzhi period of Qing Dynasty, with a length of 19.5 meters and a height of 6 meters. There are 7 circular hollow sculptures with a diameter of 1.7 meters between the walls, and the patterns are stories such as "Sea of Clouds and Waves", "Crab, Shrimp and Fish Dragon", "Shuigong Longfu", "Pavilion Tower Garden", "Eagle Leaping", "Dragon and Phoenix Appearing" and "Fish Leaping to Longmen".
