How to play the role of carbon monoxide sensor in coal mine
Generally, there is an important criterion to judge whether there is fire danger, that is, whether the content of CO in the air exceeds the standard, and if it exceeds the standard, it will easily cause a fire, because CO is a flammable and toxic gas. Similarly, the same is true of coal mines. If the concentration of carbon monoxide is too high, workers will be poisoned. At present, China's coal mine safety regulations clearly require that the concentration of carbon monoxide gas should be monitored in real time in alleys, return air lanes, coal mining faces, tunneling faces, goaf and other places, and alarm should be given when the gas concentration reaches or exceeds the preset dangerous value. This is when the carbon monoxide sensor comes in handy.

We know that in many poorly ventilated restaurants and coal mine production sites, it is necessary to install flameout protection devices for gas equipment, mechanical air supply and exhaust systems and gas concentration detection alarms to ensure the safety of current work and construction. Among them, such as carbon monoxide poisoning accidents in coal mines, combustible gas detection and alarm devices often use gas detection elements such as methane and carbon monoxide sensors to monitor and warn the surrounding combustible gas concentration.

In addition, carbon monoxide sensors are widely used in some toxic and combustible gas leakage monitoring devices. Generally speaking, in order to avoid the above-mentioned safety accidents and hidden dangers, it is necessary for all kinds of enterprises to effectively and immediately monitor and warn all kinds of dangerous combustible gases in the usual production process by installing effective monitoring devices for combustible carbon monoxide sensors.

Introduction of simple principle of electrochemical carbon monoxide sensor;

As common carbon monoxide sensors in coal mines, there are usually electrochemical sensors, catalytic combustible gas sensors, infrared absorption sensors and so on. Now electrochemical carbon monoxide sensors are widely used.

Electrochemical carbon monoxide sensor is also a kind of micro fuel cell element, which carries out electrochemical oxidation-reduction reaction on the gas under constant potential, and obtains the information of gas concentration by measuring the electric field current. Its working principle is to form an electrode pair with a working electrode and a counter electrode. When the pair of electrodes are immersed in the electrolyte, a voltage is applied between the electrodes to generate polarization. If the working electrode is positive and the counter electrode is negative, the negative ions in the electrolyte move to the working electrode and the positive ions move to the counter electrode. At this time, the gas to be measured diffuses to the working electrode, and electrochemical reaction occurs under the action of catalyst to release charge, which changes the potential of the working electrode and the counter electrode and generates current.

Type 3 toxic gas detector of Hai/Ge/Tong/Jiang adopts carbon monoxide sensor based on electrochemical principle. The electrochemical sensor has the advantages of high sensitivity, good selectivity and good linearity of low concentration output, and is mainly used in various demanding occasions, including toxic gas detection in mining industry and steel industry.
