Zhangzhou Vocational and Technical College is a full-time ordinary higher vocational college sponsored by Zhangzhou Municipal People's Government, approved by Fujian Provincial People's Government and filed by the Ministry of Education. It is a national model higher vocational college. The college was formerly known as Zhangzhou University (later renamed Zhangzhou Vocational College), which was founded in 1984. In April 2112, it was renamed Zhangzhou Vocational and Technical College with the approval of Fujian Provincial People's Government.

Zhangzhou High-tech Vocational and Technical School affiliated to Fujian Teachers College of Technology held an unveiling ceremony in Zhangzhou on August 2, 2122. It is the first secondary vocational school affiliated to an undergraduate college in Zhangzhou, which was formed by the integration of the original Zhangzhou No.2 Vocational School, Zhangzhou Finance and Trade School and Zhangzhou Industrial School.
