Tips:
Dongjia is very small, just on both sides of the river, and you can see it all whether you walk around clockwise or counterclockwise. Half of the attractions on the route of Xijie are on Xijie Street, and you can see them all by walking along Xijie Street.
Travel TipsSo here's a simple guide for you based on my previous trip to Wuzhen, for your reference. Wuzhen East fence is a straight line route, West fence is a circular line, you can follow the line, basically will not miss any attractions Oh!
Day1Zhaoming Academy
We live in the Zhaoming standard room adjacent to the Zhaoming Academy. Zhaoming Academy is located in the Xijie scenic area, which is the place where Prince Ming of Liang Dynasty studied in Wuzhen as a child in the Southern Dynasty. Inscribed with the six dynasties, Prince Liang Zhaoming with Shen Shangshu reading place of the Ming Dynasty ancient pagoda, is the symbol of the Zhaoming Academy building, the general tourists can not help but to take pictures here.
There are ponds and old trees around the pagoda, so you can take a rest for a while, or you can go to the nearby exhibition hall to see the ancient plaques of the past generations, as well as the exhibition of winners of the Mao Dun Literature Prize and the winning works of the past generations.
Ding Sheng Bridge
The following bridge is called Ding Sheng Bridge, which connects Ling Shui Ju and Zhaoming Academy. According to legend, during the Southern Song Dynasty, Lu Dongbin, one of the Eight Immortals, sold glutinous rice cakes on this bridge. The big cakes were filled with three pieces of rice for one Wen, while the small cakes were filled with one piece of rice for three Wen, so many people paid for the big cakes, and a scholar, who was going to the capital to take his exams, bought a piece of small cake for three Wen.
The story goes that a scholar going to the capital to catch the examination, met a strange person selling glutinous rice cake on this bridge, cake without filling and half-cooked, so he bought a piece of small cake with three cents. The passers-by laughed at the scholar's stupidity, but the scholar did not think so: different phases, different prices, different things, there is a reason for it.
The seller of cakes immediately sent him 10 words: the cake is not strange, the cake is born in this day. Sure enough, soon the scholar was awarded the Scholarship, and the bridge was also praised as the Ding Sheng Bridge. It turned out that the strange man was the great immortal Lu Dongbin.
Wendu Marshal
Legend has it that in ancient times, there was a scholar who found that there were two plague ghosts throwing plague worms in a well, and in order to warn the villagers, the scholar threw his body into the well, and the villagers, who were illiterate, eventually knew that there was poison in the well, and the Jade Emperor appointed him as a marshal of the Wendu Marshal, and villagers also built a temple in his honor.
Ling Shui Ju
Ling Shui Ju is one of the largest garden architectural attractions in Xijie. Mr. Mao Dun's memorial hall and mausoleum are located on the east side of Lingshuiju. There are also memorial halls for Wang Huiwu, Kong Lingjing and Shen Zemin, whose memorial halls are also located in Lingshuiju.
We two confused ghosts only wandered around the entrance for a short while, forgetting to go to the garden inside, every time you travel must miss some attractions before giving up?
Yichangyefang
Yichangyefang's architectural structure is very unique, all the pillars are carved from stone, locally known as the stone foot house, which is designed to prevent smelting sparks around the ignition of wood into a fire hazard.
The patio is placed in a large pot, known as the world's first pot, this pot is the Tongzhi five years (1866) Shen's descendants of casting, when Shen's family in order to show their own smelting skills, but also in order to show that his economic strength, and so carefully smelted the world's first pot.
Shen family's exquisite smelting technology has been preserved to this day. However, the pure raw iron pot has been highly regarded for its richness in iron, which is easily absorbed by the human body, and its ability to minimize the loss of vitamins in the cooking of vegetables. Now the store mainly sells iron pots and all kinds of handicrafts.
Shu Chang Sauce Garden
Built in the ninth year of Qing Dynasty Xianfeng, it is the earliest sauce garden in Wuzhen since the history was recorded, with a store in front and a workshop in the back, which is mainly engaged in soybean paste, soy sauce, pickles and so on. The sauces are made by traditional hand-brewing method, utilizing raw materials such as high-quality soybeans, fava beans, wheat, etc., making use of bamboo plaques to make the curds, and brewing them after half a year-long natural sun-dew fermentation, which is loved by the local people.
Hongyuantai No., Kusunoki Bencai Dyeing Workshop
Hongyuantai Dyeing Workshop is a dyeing workshop that was founded during the Song and Yuan dynasties. Next to it is the Grass and Wood Color Dyeing Workshop. The colorful baking is extracted from local grass and wood raw materials, such as tea leaves, mulberry bark, and sapium sebiferum leaves, all of which are used to extract the colors, which is why this dyeing workshop is called the Grass and Wood Color Dyeing Workshop in the region.
High shelves are tanned with blue-printed fabrics, and low shelves are tanned with solid-colored fabrics. It's really hard to take beautiful photos under the fluttering fabrics, so it's better to take photos of the dyed fabrics, if you're beautiful.

Instead of visiting the museums, this is a great time to appreciate Bey's architecture.

Moonlight lights mountain full Xijie
If the daytime Xijie is high value, the night Xijie is simply super high high X10086 value. When the lights come on, Xijie adds a touch of a different atmosphere. Night living in Xijie, the essential must be the night tour of Xijie when the night falls, the calm river reflects the light of the riverside buildings, brilliant, beautiful, like the scenery in the painting. Compared with the daytime Jiangnan water town quiet and restful beauty is another kind of beauty. Xizhi also has a bar street for night owls, which is a good place to relax and unwind.
Day2Dragon Shaped Fields
From a high point, the farmland here looks like a line of dragons, hence the name Dragon Shaped Fields. In summer, the sunflowers bloom in patches and the scene is spectacular. On a sunny day, it is free and relaxing to sit on a swing and bathe in the sun. To the north is the long plank thatched bridge and waterwheel.
Moonlao Temple
As the name suggests, the Moonlao Temple is of course for seeking marriage! The trees outside the temple are full of red cards. I remember asking for a sign for the CP of my heart here 4 years ago. Time has changed and although the man is not married, the woman is. Let's wish each of the CPs a good marriage.
Wangjinli
The Wangjinli area actually refers to the area around the Wangjinli Boutique Hotel. Because it is located in the western part of Xijie, so few tourists will go. The appearance is quite good, yo, there is a fountain at the entrance, if the budget is enough and want to be high, you can consider staying.
White Lotus Pagoda overlooking the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal
Wuzhen has been said to have a view, two towers, nine temples and thirteen anamnesis, a view refers to the east fence of the Cultivation of the view, the two towers, one of which is the White Lotus Pagoda Temple. White Lotus Pagoda was originally known as the Golden Lotus Pagoda House, built in the Northern Song Dynasty during the Chongning years (1102-1106 years). Checked the information to know, the original White Lotus Tower is the same in 2005 to rebuild.
The original White Lotus Pagoda, seven levels high, sixteen feet high, the end of the Yuan Dynasty was destroyed in the war between Zhu Yuanzhang and Zhang Shicheng in Wuzhen. Now the White Lotus Pagoda has seven levels and the tower is 51.75 meters high, which is the highest building in Wuzhen. Under the tower, there is the octagonal Rising Lotus Square, and there is the release pond in the square, and there is a stone boat on the river bank on the east side.
The climb to the White Lotus Pagoda is entirely for the sake of having a full view of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. Though Emperor Yang is seen as a negative image in the minds of later generations, his excavation of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal did promote the economic development of the north and the south.
The Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal is the longest mileage and largest ancient canal in the world, and is known as one of the three great projects of ancient China, along with the Great Wall and the Canal. Climbing the White Lotus Pagoda is free, though staff will control the number of people climbing the pagoda to avoid overcrowding.
Wenchang Pavilion
Built in the 10th year of the Qing Dynasty, it was specially constructed by Yan Chen to enshrine the star that presides over the literary fortune, hence the name Wenchang Pavilion. Wenchang Pavilion enshrines Wenchang Emperor, specializing in the world's God of fame and fortune. In the old days, whenever the examination, the students will come to worship, in order to achieve academic success, career success.
Then there are readers on a boat to Wenchang Pavilion. The boat docks at the wharf, the readers go upstairs, and the subordinates sit downstairs on the benches on both sides of the aisle and wait.
Guandi Temple
The Guandi Temple enshrines the imposing bronze statue of Guan Wu Da Di. Wuzhen was very prosperous in the Ming and Qing dynasties, the town gathered many rich merchants, plus Wuzhen is the junction of two provinces and three prefectures, the trade exchanges are very frequent, and many merchants will pass through Wuzhen for business.
Guandi Temple is located in the land and water, so although Wuzhen and Guan Gong does not have much direct contact, but the Guandi Temple in the west fence is a strong incense, believers worship endless.
Yida Silk
Yida Silk was founded in the early years of Guangxu (1875), the workshop fully demonstrated the sericulture, cocooning to reeling, brocade weaving process, you can see the entire process of reeling, real people to operate Oh.
Wuzhen Post Office
How hard it was to finally come to the Wuzhen Post Office. Wuzhen was a very commercially developed town during the Tang Dynasty, with the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal running through the town. Wuzhen has a long postal history. The Yuan Dynasty formally had a horse post and water post, in Wuzhen mirror set up most of the water post, that is, the use of boat transportation to pass official documents, the post station has a fixed boat households, responsible for the transmission of official documents.
The Xishi River in Wuzhen is a tributary of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, and the Wuzhen Post Office is located on the banks of the Xishi River. The Wuzhen Post Office is still open to date, so if you are interested, drop a letter to your relatives and friends at the post box at the entrance.
Wuzhen Grand Theater
The Wuzhen Grand Theater, adjacent to the Mushin Museum of Art, consists of two ellipses of different sizes stacked on top of each other, and was constructed based on the concept of the "lotus flower", which symbolizes good fortune and celebration.
The theater of Wuzhen Grand Theater is a large social and cultural facility integrating drama and concert performances, exhibitions, cultural and artistic exchanges, and also serves as an auxiliary function for rehearsals, meetings, research and other cultural activities, and all the instruments and equipment are of international standard. Must be in the Wuzhen Theater Festival, Wuzhen is more worthy of another look at it.
Dongjie
We set aside 1.5 hours to explore Dongjie. Dongjie has the Wooden Heart Residence Memorial Hall, the Jiangnan Hundred Beds Museum, the Folk Museum, the Wooden Carving Officials, and Mao Dun's Former Residence. Wooden heart residence memorial hall actually have to book a day in advance, there is no announcement, you let who go to see it? The rest of the attractions have zero viewability.
Wuzhen diningWuzhen dining is also quite "awesome". Why do you say that? Because every family is the same menu, the same price, open and transparent, money we earn together. We ate 3 meals, tasted their hand-torn cabbage, whitewater fish, tomato scrambled eggs, minced pork and eggplant, etc. Per capita 40-50 per meal. The per capita per meal 40-50. taste is not bad, white water fish recommended.
Here wall breaks recommend "auntie cake", cheap and delicious. We are out of the Dongjia scenic area in front of the specialty store to buy. The following picture from the official website to make up the number. It's one dollar a packet, and there are four pieces in a packet.
Wuzhen Auntie Cake is a traditional Han Chinese specialty of Wuzhen, Tongxiang, Zhejiang Province, known as Hangzhou-Jiaxing-Huzhou, which is slightly larger than a chess piece, oily but not greasy, crunchy but not scattered, both fragrant and glutinous, sweet and salty. When people hear the name, they always think that the cake is made by the aunt and sister-in-law. But on the contrary, it is the result of a fight between the aunt and the sister-in-law.
Wuzhen AccommodationStaying in a B&B is the best choice to experience the local flavor. When you arrive at the visitor service center, go to the counter to check in, pay 300 yuan deposit (cash or credit card), deposit vouchers must be kept safe, check out by vouchers to return the deposit. If you forget the voucher in the B&B, it does not matter, the staff will let you fill out a lost sheet, sign a word and you can get back the deposit. Compliments of Wuzhen's mature management model, to the tourists are convenient.
Because we decided to go to Wuzhen on the spur of the moment, and on New Year's Day vacation, there was little choice in booking a room on the official website four days in advance. The four or five hundred B&Bs have long been booked out. The B&Bs all include breakfast. The day before on the list to check what you want to eat, the next day when you get up the boss will make it for you, simply sweet.
The amount of breakfast is also horrible, a hot drink (milk or soymilk or tea or coffee), a snack (toast or bacon fritters), a main dish (black sesame soup dumplings or three silk noodles), and thin rice, pumpkin porridge, green vegetables, yams, sweet potatoes, peanuts, fermented bean curd, which are self-service for nothing, eaten until the wall.
Tips:
Living in Wuzhen inside, but also to give tickets Oh, but you can do a temporary pass, in and out of only one admission fee. West grille tickets 120 east grille 100 joint ticket 150. east grille commercial atmosphere is too thick, and Shanghai's Zhujiajiao, Shaojialou ancient town is not much worse, do you think it is worth 100 yuan tickets?
West fence into the wayEntering the West fence there are two ways: land and water.
Most tourists will choose the waterway, i.e. take a boat to enter the scenic area. We wanted to check into our B&B early, plus we were dragging a big luggage, so the staff suggested us to take the battery car. If you are not in a hurry, you can absolutely leave your luggage with the staff and they will bring it to your accommodation at 11:30 sharp. The battery car is fitted with a windshield, so you won't be frozen at all while traveling.
When you arrive at the station, you don't have to do anything, the staff will take the initiative to pull off the windshield for you and pick you up from the car, emperor-style treatment. So no matter which mode of transportation you choose to enter the scenic area, it is very convenient. When you check out, give your luggage to the boss, and when you return to the visitor service center at the end of your trip, your luggage is already waiting for you quietly. Wuzhen really has nothing to say in terms of service.
Outside the Scenic AreaOutside the scenic area is actually the main street of Wuzhen, so you don't have to worry too much about safety. There are a lot of stores and hotels, so you can take your time to choose. And eat, buy daily necessities outside the scenic area is more convenient. And the price of accommodation is much cheaper compared to the scenic area, the environment is also good. As we are students, we chose to stay outside the scenic area because of the lack of funds.
Inside the scenic areaDongjie B&B is privately owned, the environment and facilities are different as mentioned earlier. But one advantage of staying in the scenic area is that your ticket can be used for two days. The first day of play at the end of the return to the accommodation, the next day directly in the scenic area where you live to play. Xijie B&B is a scenic area unified management, so the environment is good price.
Food RecommendationsBasically in the scenic area, if you live in the B&B home will provide meals, you can order food, the price is not expensive. At the same time you can also walk into a B&B at any time during the tour can order food for dinner.
And itself Wuzhen scenic area inside a variety of specialty restaurants, street along the way there are a variety of snacks, in short, is not hungry you. The more famous snacks there are: three white wine, Wuzhen mutton, stinky dried beans, white water fish, Wuzhen sauce duck, Ding Sheng cake and so on.
Scenic Area Charges South Fence North FenceThese two areas belong to the daily life of local residents in the area, there is no systematic commercial planning and development, so it is a free area, do not charge admission. There are a lot of local residents opened small stores and homes, basically maintaining the most authentic state of life in Wuzhen. If you have the heart, you can go around, and there are many snacks and interesting places hidden in the corners.
East grille west grilleThe two areas belong to the main scenic area of Wuzhen, east grille ticket 100 yuan / Zhang, west grille ticket 120 yuan / Zhang, east and west grille joint ticket 150 yuan / Zhang (valid for two days, need to be based on the scenic area within the accommodation vouchers for multiple entry and exit certificates to be effective). Military personnel, the elderly, primary and secondary school students with documents to enjoy the East fence 60 yuan, West fence 80 yuan, combined ticket 105 yuan discount.
Tips: ticket booths after 14:00 will not sell passes, but if you stay in the west fence, you can buy a pass in the place of accommodation, you can shop the next day in Dongjia (valid until 15:00 the next day, provided that you live in the west fence scenic area).
Tips:
The joint ticket needs your accommodation in the east fence or west fence scenic area, and for multiple entry and exit certificate can be multiple entry and exit, otherwise even if you are a joint ticket once you get out of the scenic area you can not go back in, need to re-buy tickets. So when you play pay attention, there is a place where there is a guardrail that is the exit, do not go out.
