Legend has it that during the Qin Dynasty, there was a father and son surnamed Yan, the father's name was Yan Feng and the son's name was Yan Wu. The two men traveled south from Shandong to escape the chaos, and at first they worked for a rich man's family. When the rich man saw that Yan Feng was old and sick and had no oil to squeeze, he drove the father and son out of the house. Yan Wu and his son had to beg for a living, often without enough to eat, and often starved to death. Especially the elderly father, already seriously ill. The good thing is that Yan Wu is a filial son, and serves his father very well.

On one occasion, Yen Wu found a small rocky cave on his way to beg, which was small in size but warm in winter and cool in summer. These are the first time I've ever seen a mosquito in a cave, and I've never seen one before. These crows ate the mosquitoes, and then there were no more mosquitoes in the cave. When Yen Wu came back from the cave to ask for food, he would save a little food to feed the crows, and the two of them became good neighbors.

One day, at dawn, the crows were awakened by a cry of pain; it turned out that Yanwu's father had died. These crows, you a piece of mud, I a piece of mud, flew back and forth busily, and soon the crows' beaks were injured, and the blocks of mud were all stained with drips and dashes of crows' blood.
