He left his hometown in his twenties and worked as an official in other places for decades, but he never forgot his hometown folks. In the forty-fourth year of Qianlong (1779), when he returned to his hometown to attend his mother's funeral, he saw that his hometown culture was backward, and donated money to build an academy, Wenfeng Academy, at the foot of Lion Mountain in Dongmen, which was the first of its kind in western Guizhou. At the same time, it also invested in hiring teachers to teach, buying fields and solving the accommodation for teachers and students of the college. Under his vigorous advocacy and influence, people of insight in Qianxi donated money to help students, and raised funds to set up several academies and schools, which promoted the development of education and culture in Qianxi.
Just before he retired from his hometown due to illness, he never forgot to plead for the students in his hometown. He knows that Guizhou is remote and backward and the people are poor. He often delays the examination period because of the long distance and lack of education. Juzi, who was poorer, sighed in Wangjing, because he couldn't make up the transportation expenses along the way and buried many outstanding talents. He told the story of Bay face to face, hoping that the emperor would sympathize with him. Emperor Qianlong felt his love for the people and sincerity in selecting talents for the country, and made a decree: "All counties along the way in Guizhou will be given fire cards (Ganting emergency documents)." This special treatment lasted until the end of Qing Dynasty, which made positive contributions to the development of education and culture in Guizhou.
After he retired in his later years and returned to his hometown, he devoted a lot of efforts to the education and culture of his hometown, and donated most of his pension for promoting education and beautifying his hometown. Hong, a scholar from Guizhou, made a special trip to visit him in Qianxi, and he never forgot to set up a school. He hoped that Hong would do his best for the education in Guizhou and win the attention and support of the imperial court.
