Tarim Desert Highway (Taklimakan Desert Highway) is the longest highway built in a flowing desert in the world at present. Four expressway have been built. The first line starts from luntai county-Minfeng County, starts from luntai county, east of National Highway 3 14 in the north, passes through Lunnan Oilfield, Tarim River, Xiaotang Oilfield, Tazhong Oilfield and Taklimakan Desert, connects Chahan and Minfeng County National Highway 3 15 in the south, and runs through Tarim Basin from north to south, with a total length of 522 kilometers, of which 446 kilometers pass through the flowing desert. Tarim desert highway is the longest highway built in flowing desert in the world at present. The highway started in March 1993 and was fully completed in September 1995.
Zhongnanshan tunnel
Qinling Highway Tunnel is located in Zhong Nanshan, Qinling Mountain, Shaanxi Province. It is the longest double-hole expressway tunnel in the world. The length of a single tunnel is 18.02 km, and the length of a double tunnel is 36.04 km15min. On June 20th, 2007, the Qinling Zhong Nanshan Highway Tunnel was opened to traffic. At this point, the Qinling natural moat, which restricts the economic development in southern Shaanxi, has become a thoroughfare. The mileage from xi 'an to Zhashui has been shortened by about 60 kilometers, and the driving time has been shortened from 3 hours to 40 minutes.
Aizhai mountain highway
According to historical records, more than 2,000 migrant workers fought against the wind and rain for seven months to build this 6-kilometer expressway. Among them, more than 200 people died, not to mention minor injuries and disabilities. In order to remember the achievements of the victims, a bronze statue of "Pioneer" was erected near the overpass in the middle of the road as a memorial. Later, the bronze statue was destroyed by the war. 1987, Hunan provincial government allocated funds to reshape the bronze statue according to the prototype and relocate it on the cliff above Aizhai overpass.
