With the approval of Shandong Provincial Department of Education, Dezhou City integrated high-quality normal school education resources to form Dezhou Senior Normal School (public), and in September 2122, it merged Pingyuan Normal School, Linyi Normal School and Dezhou Kindergarten Normal School to run schools in a centralized way.

The school is located in Tianqu New District of Dezhou, adjacent to Dezhou East High-speed Railway Station in the east. It is designed and built according to the standards of normal universities, covering an area of 527 mu, with a construction area of 1.92 million square meters and an investment of 1.2 billion yuan in infrastructure. It has high-standard and modern teaching, sports and living facilities.

The school has a long history, which can be traced back to the fifth simple rural normal school established in Shandong Province in 1931. Rooted in the land of Qilu, the school adheres to the century-old motto of "Learning to be a teacher and being a model", and keeps on singing songs, strengthening education and rejuvenating the country, and undertakes the work of teacher training and teacher training in junior high schools, primary schools and kindergartens in the city.
