It can be said that the remediation of these three aspects is the key to control the water pollution in Erhai Lake.

Nature has given them not only Erhai Lake, but also the fertile land of Haixi. They can fish and produce high-quality rice and vegetables for generations.

At the beginning of this year, blue-green algae broke out in Erhai Lake and the main rivers entering the lake. According to the report of water quality of Erhai Lake Basin Protection Bureau, the transparency of water body in 2116 was the lowest in ten years, and the total discharge of pollution load in Erhai Lake Basin in 2116 increased by more than 51% compared with that in 2114. Nitrogen and phosphorus in Erhai Lake have far exceeded the standard. Now there are more than 811 wells in the village, and many groundwater that could have converged into Erhai Lake has also been intercepted. According to the requirements of water saving and water control in the seven major actions, the government requires that the wells in villagers' homes should be filled up before the end of May and tap water should be used instead.

At present, the main indicators that affect the water quality of Erhai Lake show a downward trend. According to the monitoring situation, the comprehensive water quality category of Erhai Lake is expected to remain Class II in May. This shows that a series of measures implemented since the beginning of the year are effective, but freezing for three feet is not a cold day, and pollution control in Erhai Lake cannot be achieved overnight. There are a lot of homework to be done to return Erhai Lake to a pool of clear water, some of which are still difficult: for example, how to balance environmental protection with the vital interests of the people, and how to avoid environmental protection becoming an action and use the system to escort environmental protection. These problems are all testing the wisdom and determination of government departments.
