The purpose of social practice is to let students enter the society earlier, the following is the nursing home social practice report summary, please see:
Article 1: Nursing home social practice report summary
First, the purpose of the practice:
Through the visit to the home for the elderly, to understand the current situation of the elderly convalescent care in China, and the the development of social work for the elderly.
The unit of practice is Leyi Home for the Elderly, which is chosen for the reason that the scale and service quality of this home are of medium level, and it can better reflect the development of the home for the elderly in the contemporary society.
Second, the content of the practice
1. Practice program: the practice of the group as a unit, four to five people in a group, responsible for two elderly.
It is mainly carried out by talking and performing programs and playing games, and some groups also take the initiative to help the elderly to take care of some of their lives, such as washing their hair, feeding them, etc.
Through this program, we have been able to help the elderly to take care of their lives.
Through establishing a good and harmonious relationship with the elderly, we understand their daily life and their inner thoughts.
In addition, it also investigated the actual working condition of the old people's home, the difficulties in the work and the overall development of the social work for the elderly through field observation and communication with the staff of the unit.
2. Specific process: we came to Le Yi Home for the Aged early in the morning, the location of the home is not very good, located between several tall buildings, it is difficult to receive sufficient sunshine, which is very unfavorable to the body of the elderly, especially now in winter, some of the elderly who are not in good health are very easy to get sick.
The scale of the homes for the elderly is not very large, a simple construction of the two-story building, a narrow courtyard in front of the house, the yard is some simple flowers and plants and fitness equipment.
Inside, there are not many old people, and when we went there, they might have just got up, and they were all moving around in the yard.
The whole home didn't give me a very good feeling.
First of all, the old people didn't seem to show much enthusiasm for our arrival; secondly.
The attitude of the staff is not very good, and the care of the elderly is not very dedicated.
Despite these negative impressions, we were still very motivated to carry out our activities.
In the interaction with the elderly, most of them were still cooperative in performing programs and playing games, and the atmosphere was very cordial, but some of them could not hear clearly or speak clearly due to their health, which made our work inconvenient.
We prepared a few programs for this activity, including two chorus songs and two dances, and a small drama, which the old people watched very carefully.
During the games, some students who know how to do handicrafts prepared some works in advance as prizes for the games, which also increased the enthusiasm of the old people to participate.
In the conversation with the elderly, we try not to touch the privacy of the elderly and some sadness, because most of the elderly come here because their children are not willing to take care of them or do not want to take care of them, they long for the warmth of the home, the companionship of loved ones.
I think this is no matter how good the living conditions can not be replaced.
In practice, we found that many of the staff here are not very dedicated to take care of the elderly, the elderly are not very well dressed, the accommodation is very poor, the living supplies are very long, and some of the staff on the one hand are watching TV leisurely, and do not communicate with the elderly often, so many of the elderly feel very lonely, lonely, and don't like it here, not to mention that this place as a home.
They feel abandoned, forgotten, and only waiting for death, all of which makes us students feel very sad, but there is nothing we can do.
III. Results of the practice and analysis
After the end of the day's practice, I feel very uncomfortable, from the eyes of these elderly people, I read a kind of deep despair, loneliness, I think that this is not only because of their children do not filial piety, but also part of the reason lies in the society.
Most of the old people here are not in good health, and some of them can't even take care of themselves. They feel that they are no longer needed by their children, no longer needed by the society, and they are just a burden waiting to die, so they don't see the home as a home, it is just a shelter for them, and it's the only place where the society can accommodate them.
This made me reflect on how to provide a good environment for the elderly to age in? Is it just a matter of improving the living conditions of the elderly? I don't think so.
The meaning of human life is not only to eat and wear warm, but also to have spiritual fulfillment, as introduced in Maslow's theory of hierarchy of needs, people first need physiological security, which is the most basic requirement for human beings to maintain their own survival.
Then there is the need for security, including: personal safety, health security, resource ownership, property ownership, moral security, job security, and family security.
Next is the need for emotion and belonging, which includes affection.
Next is the need for respect, which includes: self-respect, confidence, achievement, respect for others, and being respected by others.
Finally, there is the need for self-actualization, which is the highest level of need, it refers to the realization of personal ideals, aspirations, the ability to play the individual to the maximum extent, to achieve the realm of self-realization of the `people, accepting themselves as well as others, the problem-solving ability to enhance the self-consciousness of the increase in the number of people who are good at independent handling of affairs, the requirement of undisturbed solitude, to complete the need to do all the things that are commensurate with their own abilities.
Only after the lower level needs are met do the higher level needs come back.
Many of our domestic elderly care organizations focus only on the most basic needs of the elderly and their physiological needs, and ignore other needs, or simply believe that the elderly do not have higher-level needs, which is a misunderstanding in our social work with the elderly.
In this regard, the practice of foreign elderly organizations is worth learning from.
There is a report news that there is a nursing home in foreign countries, for the elderly to develop a set of courses to slow down the aging process and stay young, and every day to give the elderly assignments to encourage them to open their minds.
This is to meet the need for self-realization of the elderly.
On the other hand, in our nursing homes, the most common scenario is that the old people are gossiping together, in addition to the occasional game of cards and chess, that is, they are not interested in flipping through the newspapers and magazines, or taking a walk alone, or sitting in the sun.
There are very few group activities in the hospital.
No brain, spiritual emptiness, will accelerate the aging of people, but many of our nursing homes apparently do not realize this, the care of the elderly, considerate of a single expression of the material conditions to improve the living conditions, improve the treatment of the spiritual aspects of the little regard, the elderly in the nursing home can only kill time, the rest of the life of the idle.
Some of the older people are quite energetic when they first enter the nursing home, but after a few months of staying there, they have aged a lot, and the speed of aging is very worrying for their families.
Only when some volunteers organized by the school come to the nursing home and play games and chat with the old people, they will smile happily.
In fact, the ageless experience of foreign nursing homes has long told us that it sometimes doesn't cost much to make the elderly happy and more fulfilled.
(I) Thoughts and Suggestions on China's Future Elderly Patterns
The problem of old age has become more prominent due to the large elderly population base in China, and also due to the implementation of the family planning policy.
At present, China's old-age pension model is still based on the traditional family pension, but before the improvement of the social service system, this kind of old-age pension has become more and more difficult to adapt to the needs of future social development.
While there are obvious shortcomings in social care, it is hard to imagine that the government can come up with a huge amount of money to establish numerous elderly care institutions.
Therefore, our immediate task is, firstly, to give full play to the power of all sectors of the community, mobilize the enthusiasm of all sectors of the community, and establish a comprehensive service system through various means, and help the elderly to live out their twilight years in their original residences by means of good social services; and secondly, to build residences suitable for the elderly to live in, or renovate the existing residences to adapt to the needs of the elderly, so as to make the family old age care possible.
The elderly still live in the original community after retirement, to maintain the continuity of the original social relations; at the same time, to encourage the active period and self-care period of the healthy elderly to play the original expertise, into the community building, do some work within their capabilities, such as responsible for community safety patrol and supervision, participation in kindergartens and nurseries.
In this way, the elderly participate in the work of community service organizations, not only can contribute to the community building, but also through labor to fully affirm their social value, establish a healthy outlook on life, and slow down the aging process.
It is good for the physical and mental health of the elderly and reduces the burden on the government.
(2) on the creation of the living environment of the elderly
The use of community services and family pension combined elderly model, should focus on creating a suitable living environment for the elderly, and pay attention to solve the following problems.
1. Residential construction should take into account the living needs of the elderly.
The Ministry of Construction of Japan launched a guideline for the design of housing corresponding to a long-life society in 1995, which stipulates that in the future, all residential construction should take into account the needs of elderly people's lives, and as far as possible, configure the foyer, toilets, bathrooms, and bedrooms for the elderly on the same floor, and set up handrails on the staircases, toilets, and corridors, etc., and make sure that toilets and bathrooms are available for nursing care, so that elderly people can create a living environment for independent living.
Combined with China's specific situation, in residential construction, at least in the multi-storey housing on the ground floor in accordance with the requirements of the elderly housing design, or for the transformation of the elderly housing to create the conditions, such as reducing the difference between the indoor and outdoor heights, will be changed to a ramp step, will be the bathtub and the washbasin separate to achieve the separation of wet and dry, and so on.
2. Establish a comprehensive community service system and community cultural facilities.
At present, in most residential areas, there is a lack of service facilities, social services are basically a blank, the only entertainment for the elderly is the poor conditions of the mahjong room.
This situation needs to be changed urgently, it is recommended in the planning of residential areas supporting the construction of facilities for the elderly activities, such as the construction of elderly activity centers for the elderly to provide leisure, recreation and social places; the construction of elderly day-care centers, during the day for the elderly to provide catering and other services, the elderly can return home at night to get together with their children, *** enjoy the joy of family; the establishment of community medical services for the elderly to provide health advice, health care and other services, to provide health advice, health care and other services. Provide health counseling, health care and other services, and at the same time can absorb the healthy elderly to participate in community services.
