China's first national wild zoo, built by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government in cooperation with the State Forestry Administration of China, is located at No. 178, Nanliu Highway, Nankui District, Pudong, Shanghai, covering an area of 153 hectares, about 35 kilometers from downtown Shanghai. With an investment of 300 million RMB, the park was officially opened to the public on November 18, 1995, and is one of the first AAA-tourist attractions in China.
Shanghai Pudong New Area Flower and Wood Administrative and Cultural Center, is the largest ecological city park rich in natural characteristics in the central area of Shanghai's inner ring road.
