Chinatown Chinatown
At the east end of the city of Calgary is a small Chinatown, which contains about 2,000 or so residents. Chinese immigrants came to Kagali in the 1880s to work on the construction of the railroad and stayed on to set up imported food markets, restaurants and import stores. The town was once infected by smallpox, which was so prevalent among the white population that local officials forced Chinatown to narrow its streets and put up visible signs. Inside the center is a museum and gallery showcasing the history of Chinese culture, as well as a gift store and restaurant.
After San Francisco's Chinatown, Vancouver's Chinatown is the second-largest in North America, and Vancouver's high percentage of Chinese residents, combined with the attraction of Chinese culture, make it one of the liveliest areas in downtown Vancouver.
In Vancouver's Chinatown, in addition to sampling a wide variety of Chinese food, shopping for inexpensive souvenirs, visiting Chinese medicine stores, and watching the colorful cultural and juggling performances at the summer weekend night market, the many monumental attractions are what make Chinatown even more appealing to tourists.
Standing at the crossroads of Pender and Taylor Streets, the Millennium Gate is the face of Chinatown. Built for the millennium, the gate blends ancient and modern Chinese architectural elements, and the words "From Strength to Strength" on the other side of the plaque express the purpose of the construction of the gate. Located in front of the Chinese Cultural Center, the Gate was part of the China Pavilion at the 1986 Vancouver World's Fair and was donated to Chinatown after the fair. For more than a decade, the magnificent China Gate was the symbol of Chinatown until 2001, when it was completely destroyed due to its age. on October 22, 2005, during the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the friendship between Guangzhou and Vancouver, and the 10th anniversary of the friendship between Guangdong Province and British Columbia, Guangzhou donated a new China Gate to Chinatown on the site of the original China Gate on East Pender Street. The Sam Kee Building is one of Chinatown's most legendary structures. Located on Carrall Street, Dr. Sun Yat Sen Classical Chinese Garden was the first Ming Dynasty classical garden outside of China. Designed and built by more than 50 Chinese garden designers, with materials shipped from China, it took two years to complete in 1986. In Zhongshan Park, you can enjoy the traditional garden scenery of winding paths and pavilions, small bridges and flowing water, and the park also holds art exhibitions of antiques and jewelry in the summer, as well as a variety of musical performances on Friday evenings, and grand celebrations of Chinese festivals such as the Mid-Autumn Festival and the Chinese New Year.

One of the old architectural complexes in the center of Moscow, the capital of Russia. Located north of Red Square.
