1. Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao can benchmark France and Spain

Nanfang Daily: What should be the connotation of a world-class tourism and leisure destination? What international samples are worth learning from Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao?

Chen Nanjiang: As far as the current research is concerned, there is no very clear standard for world-class tourism and leisure destinations. But I personally think that the connotation of a world-class tourism and leisure destination can be measured by four indicators: influence, diversification of tourists, economic benefits of tourism, volume and scale.

specifically, firstly, it needs to have a certain influence and popularity in the world; Secondly, in the tourism market, tourists come from many countries; Furthermore, the economic benefits of tourism should reach a certain scale, whether it is the number of tourists or tourism income; In addition, the overall regional volume and overall scale of tourism should reach certain indicators.

Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao have a large overall area and volume. We can't use the development of a certain scenic spot in a country or region as a reference, but should measure the goal of building a world-class tourism and leisure destination in the three places from a macro perspective. From the perspective of volume, the corresponding samples in the world can be compared with countries with developed tourism, such as France and Spain. These two countries are universally recognized as world-class tourism and leisure destinations, and their annual tourism revenue ranks among the top five in the world. The formation of this destination is closely related to perfect planning, rich tourism products, rich cultural connotations and diversified formats. At present, many places have put forward the goal of building a world-class tourism and leisure destination, which often coincides with the highly developed urban circle. Chen Nanjiang: All regional cooperation should take into account the self-interest of each region. Therefore, in the development cooperation of tourism and related industries in Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao, the three parties have both cooperation and a certain degree of competition. It is precisely under the objective existence of competition that we should study the convergence and complementarity of tourism and related industrial planning in the three places. The degree of convergence and complementarity of related planning in the future also determines the depth of cooperation among the three parties in the tourism industry.

in my opinion, the tourism industry of the three places should develop together, and their respective advantages must be highlighted in industrial planning, so as to realize the development of strengths and avoid weaknesses, complementary advantages and dislocation, which is also the requirement in the Pearl River Delta Planning Outline approved by the State Council. For example, many tour groups now visit the Pearl River Delta, basically taking a tour around Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Macao and Zhuhai. Tourists may have a dispute with the travel agency in Zhuhai and complain to the relevant departments in Zhuhai, but in fact this travel agency belongs to Shenzhen, and the regulatory authorities in Zhuhai can only do some investigation and evidence collection work, and cannot directly punish it. Therefore, I think that the government departments of Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao should not only enhance their tourism competitiveness and attractiveness, but also supervise local tourism enterprises through cooperation, so as to promote the healthy development of tourism cooperation among Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao.

4. Zhuhai can make up for the shortage of tourism space in Hong Kong and Macao

Nanfang Daily: Specifically, how can Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao further integrate and optimize in many aspects such as resource enjoyment and product design? In particular, what advantages should Zhuhai play and what shortcomings should it make up?

Liu Yunde: Tourism cooperation between Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao has been very close. For a long time since the reform and opening up, the Pearl River Delta and Hong Kong and Macao have been the most active places in China's tourism industry. At present, Hong Kong's attraction lies in fashionable shopping tours, while Macau focuses on gambling, while Zhuhai's advantages should be leisure and cultural tourism, such as the hot springs, golf courses and Chimelong Ocean Kingdom owned by Zhuhai. These Hong Kong and Macao, which are sparsely populated, are relatively scarce and should be well developed and utilized.

Compared with Hong Kong and Macao, the shortcoming of Zhuhai's tourism lies in the level of tourism services. For a very simple example, when we go to the scenic spots in Hong Kong, vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children and the disabled have special access, while when we go to Changlong, everyone can only queue up together.

Liu Yunde: I recommend Japan and South Korea first. At present, Japan and South Korea are the two largest markets for inbound tourism in China. For example, in recent years, about 2 million Japanese tourists come to the mainland every year. Japan and South Korea have a high level of national income, a small land area and a narrow living space, so their desire for a holiday is very strong. I suggest that Zhuhai can organize people to go to Japan and South Korea to promote our tourism resources.

Weitian Li: The key issue is not where to promote tourism, but whether we can come up with attractive classic routes that can integrate the quality tourism resources of Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao. Nowadays, there are not many tourists from Europe and the United States who come to China. Some people may spend half a month there, and they will choose cities with tourist attractions to visit one by one. If Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao can come up with a classic tourist route, I believe it can attract these European and American tourists. In addition, there are many tourists from Southeast Asian countries to Hong Kong and Macao. If there is this classic tourist route connecting Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao, Zhuhai can benefit a lot from it. As for the specific scenic spots to be selected for this route, it needs to be decided by the market.
