Generally speaking, when eating Western food, each different dish should be accompanied by a different kind of wine, and a new kind of wine should be changed when eating a dish. The basic rule is to eat red meat and drink red wine, eat white meat and drink white wine. Among the more elaborate rules:
First drink white wine and then drink red wine, where both white and red are wines.
