Hongzhou's biological mother is Geng Shi, a pure imperial concubine, and Geng Shi, the daughter of Gengdejin, is a middle official family. Geng Shi is handsome and smart. She married Yongzheng before he ascended the throne. Although Yongzheng was one of the few emperors in history who had no feelings or kindness, he still had a soft spot for Gengshi. As soon as he ascended the throne, he was named Ai Yu, and a few years later he was promoted to Yu Fei. Geng Shi gave birth to Emperor Wu Zi for Yongzheng, that is, Hongzhou. He looks dignified and strong, has strong adaptability and is very smart, which is very similar to Geng Shi's personality.
Hongzhou was very popular with Yongzheng. In the 13th year of Yongzheng, Hongzhou was named Prince of Peace. That year, the Qing Dynasty had just set up a scenic spot office, and Yongzheng let the later Qianlong emperor Li Hong and Hongzhou preside over the matter together, which shows his esteem for Hongzhou. Yongzheng likes Hongzhou and Li Hong likes Hongzhou very much. He always dotes on this younger brother.
After the death of Yongzheng, Li Hong succeeded to the throne as emperor, with the title of "Qianlong". After Qianlong ascended the throne, he gave all the former residence and belongings of Prince Yong, who lived before Yongzheng, to Hongzhou. Some people may say that there is nothing to spoil by giving money, but among so many brothers, only Hongzhou enjoys the favor of Qianlong.
Hongzhou feels good about himself. He thought that with his brother's support, he could do whatever he wanted, and his temper was outrageous. On one occasion, when he was in the early dynasty, Hongzhou had an argument with the military minister and the first-class husband in the court. Hongzhou was so angry that he hit her on the ground. At that time, Qianlong was sitting on a high dragon chair, surrounded by Wu Wen. It stands to reason that Gan Long should severely reprimand or punish Hong Zhou, but Gan Long didn't blame Hong Zhou and didn't come forward to stop Hong Zhou from beating court officials. This incident left a deep impression on the courtiers present. Since then, the Korean people have never dared to provoke Hongzhou at will. They know very well how indulgent Qianlong is and how indulgent Hongzhou is.
On another occasion, Qianlong tried the children of the Eight Banners in the Fair Hall of Gan Qing Palace, and time passed unconsciously. At lunch time, Hongzhou invited his younger brother to abdicate for dinner, which was rejected by Qianlong. Hongzhou was anxious at that time. He said, "Does the emperor think that I have bought these people to work for me?" Hiroshi's words were really rude, but Gan Long, as always, forgave and tolerated him.
Qianlong often rewarded Hongzhou, who should be the richest of all prisoners, but as the richest captives, Hongzhou had a wonderful hobby, which was to arrange funerals. Once, Hongzhou personally directed the funeral ceremony. He sat in the middle of the yard and ordered the people in the room to cry, which seemed to be quite enjoyable. In addition to holding funerals, Hongzhou often makes funerary objects, but he is very interested in the things used by the deceased and the things used at funerals. He once put the collected funerary objects in front of his own collapse. Hongzhou often says to people: "People who have never lived past 100 years old need not be so taboo." Therefore, he doesn't think the funeral is anything unlucky at all.
