Cultivation techniques:
culture in the open
Fine soil preparation: before planting 10- 15 days, dig deep into the field, the depth of tillage layer is 30-35cm, and the soil is broken and ridged. Ridge planting: the width of ridge surface is 40 cm, the width of ditch is 30 cm, one row is planted on each ridge, and the spacing between plants is 25 cm. Border planting: border width 1m, ditch width 30cm, border planting in three rows, row spacing 50cm, plant spacing 25cm.
Timely planting: before the new buds of Aralia elata germinate in June+10-February, 5438, dig the wild Aralia elata as seedlings, or dig the seedlings germinated from the roots of Aralia elata as seedlings in March-April. When planting, you can ditch or dig holes on the ridge (border), bury the roots of seedlings in the soil and compact the topsoil to expose new buds. After planting, water the seedlings in time, and cover the ridge (border) with grass curtain to keep water and promote root development. When the seedlings have new roots, new buds germinate at the top of stems and branches, or when the seedlings have heart leaves, the grass curtain is removed for normal field management.
Fertilizer and water management: Aralia elata has poor fertilizer tolerance, so it is not possible to use organic fertilizer as base fertilizer in the field when planting seedlings, so as to avoid burning roots and killing seedlings. 15- 20 days after the seedlings survive, the decomposed organic fertilizer can be applied as the base fertilizer on the ridge (edge), with 3000-4000 kg per mu. When Aralia elata buds grow to 2-5cm, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer should be applied in time, 45-50 kg per mu. Irrigation should be done in time after fertilization to promote the absorption of nutrients by plants.
Field management: Aralia elata stems are covered with thorns. When the plant grows to 1- 1.5m high and the ridge is closed, the horizontally growing branches between the ridges should be cut off in time to keep the plant growing upward, and the plant height should be controlled within 2-3m, so as to cut the bud bag. After planting, Aralia elata can continue to harvest for 10- 15 years until the old stem dies. Weeds in the field can be controlled by covering a layer of rice straw or wheat straw at the base of Aralia elata on the ridge every year for no-tillage control. Aralia elata has strong disease resistance and seldom gets sick. Insect pests are mainly caused by aphids, and dimethoate EC 1000- 1500 times can be controlled. In order to meet the demand of pollution-free vegetables, the use of chemical pesticides should be reduced as much as possible.
Timely harvesting: 2-3 years after planting Aralia elata, the transverse diameter of the main stem reaches 4-5m, and the top of the stem germinates thick, fat and tender buds. When the outer layer of the bud bag tightly supports the base and the tip is slightly opened, the bud bag can be cut off with a blade and supplied to the market.
Growing habits:
Born in forest, shrub or roadside, distributed vertically from the seaside to an altitude of 2700 meters.
Born in the miscellaneous forest at an altitude of 400-2700 meters.
