What problems should I pay attention to when I first arrive in Tibet?
Special changes have taken place in the environment and human physiological conditions when I first arrived at the plateau. Therefore, people who are new to the plateau should pay attention to their diet: the staple food should be soft and liquid, such as noodles and porridge, and the non-staple food should be mainly light vegetables and fruits rich in vitamins. Because of lack of appetite under hypoxia, the function of digestive system is weakened and flatulence occurs. Because of dryness, the body excretes more water, and the body's water is reduced, while a soft diet is conducive to digestion and absorption, increasing liquid. Therefore, we should try to make food delicious, promote appetite, increase food intake, ensure and meet the body's needs for various nutrients, and prevent metabolic disorders. The climatic conditions in the plateau are poor, so it is not suitable to drink alcohol when you first arrive at the plateau, because drinking alcohol will make your heart beat faster and your breathing deepen faster, which will lead to severe hypoxia, affect your appetite and aggravate altitude sickness. In the case of hypoxia at high altitude, people who have just arrived and have not adapted should avoid drinking too much water to prevent pulmonary edema. People who have not adapted to the plateau environment should also reduce their salt intake appropriately, which is conducive to preventing acute altitude sickness.
