Guixi No.1 Middle School is located in the former site of the famous Xiangshan Academy in the Southern Song Dynasty and was founded in 1945. 1980 was approved by Jiangxi provincial people's government as a provincial key middle school. The school now covers an area of 120 mu, and the planned land is 3 1 1 mu. The existing school building area is more than 54,000 square meters. The predecessor of Guixi No.1 Middle School is Xiangshan Academy, one of the four major academies in the Southern Song Dynasty, with a history of more than 800 years.

Schools should "learn to be human, learn to seek knowledge, learn to do things, and learn to keep fit." As for the school motto, we should strive to create a school spirit of "unity, truth-seeking, innovation and high efficiency" and cultivate a large number of "four haves" for the society.
