Horn is usually made of plastic similar to animal head and policy. The difference between horn connectors is that there are more buckles on both sides of a simple horn. According to the demand, the peripheral dimensions of horn connectors are commonly used in three specifications: 1.27 spacing, 2.0 spacing and 2.54 spacing; According to the different spacing, the diameter of the square row of needles used also changes accordingly. The contact surface between the bottom and PCB can be designed as SMT patch or DIP 180 degrees. Function: After the horn is welded on the PCB, it is connected to the IDC cable with corresponding specifications, and then combined with other circuits to form the circuit connection mode required by the designer, which is usually used to transmit control signals and weak current.
Horn connector is a kind of connector, which is called horn connector because of its similar appearance and shape to horn. Horn connector is a very simple internal wiring device. This paper mainly introduces the use of horn connector for connector manufacturers.
How to use the horn connector:
Horn connectors usually need to pay attention to the insertion direction, perpendicular to the insertion direction and inclination when using.
1, insertion direction:
When the connector is fully inserted into U= 14.2, the specified contact resistance shall be ensured.
2, perpendicular to the insertion direction:
If the printed circuit board or fixed board mounting connector is floating, the free and fixed board mounting connectors shall be designed to give an adjustable displacement of at least1mm.
3. Inclination:
The design of free and fixed board-mounted connectors allows tilt error, with longitudinal axis 4 and horizontal axis 4.
4. Type C, type R and type M should be preferred, and their overall dimensions and installation methods should comply with the relevant provisions of IEC60603-2. PCB punching drawing should refer to relevant drawings in connector parameter library.
5. The reference system of the European connector is the mounting surface of the fixed board connector, with the straight line passing through the center of the mounting hole as the reference line and the nominal center near the mounting hole of No.32 contact as the reference point.
6. RF hybrid horn connector, RF terminal frequency range, impedance characteristics, VSWR, insertion loss, must meet certain requirements, and must ensure impedance matching with the connector.
7. If required by EMC, the connector must meet the requirements of EMC.
8. There are several termination forms of connectors, such as crimping and PCB welding, which can be selected according to actual needs.
