In addition, there are their own law societies. Labrang Temple is known as the pearl of Buddhist culture in China. The number of tourists here is increasing day by day, because here you can not only appreciate the Tibetan temple architecture, experience the rich religious charm, but also taste the unique Tibetan food in Labrang Temple.
If you want to eat real Tibetan food, you have to stay in the canteen of Labrang Temple. The restaurant is located in the center of the temple. The restaurant is spacious and bright, divided into two parts, half for monks and half for tourists. You can taste delicious Tibetan food here.
There is no menu for dining here. After you sit down, two monks in red robes will bring you milk tea and pour it into a bowl. It smells yellow and fragrant. After a sip, you will feel that the bottom of your throat is smooth and relaxed.
After drinking milk tea, the two monks served their guests a huge copper hot pot, which looked like a pot for eating instant-boiled mutton every day, but it was much bigger. This is the famous hand-grabbed mutton. This kind of "hand grasping" pays attention to the freshness and fatness of mutton, which is generally done now. The age of sheep is generally less than one year, which can keep the meat fresh and tender. When eating, you should drink soup first, and then eat mutton. Generally, you have to take a bite of mutton soup, eat a piece of mutton, drink highland barley wine, and have a fragrant soup to taste the real Tibetan food. Generally, we should choose the rib meat of sheep, cut it into small pieces of about 10 cm, put it in a clear water pot, cook it with slow fire until it boils, skim off the blood foam, add seasonings such as salt and pepper, and cook for two or three hours.
There is a special place to eat Tibetan food. The monk won't wait on you before the guests finish drinking. The monks didn't bring the rice covered with ginseng fruit (Potentilla anserina), sugar and ghee juice until the guests had a good meal. This is a famous special rice in Labuleng Temple-fern rice, which tastes sweeter than eight-treasure rice.
That's not all. The monk will give you a hidden bag after watching the guests eat. This kind of hidden bag is also very special. Chop fresh beef and mutton, put cooked shredded radish into the meat, and add seasoning and fresh sheep oil. When eating, you should pay attention to take a small bite at the bottom of the steamed stuffed bun, suck the soup in the steamed stuffed bun into your mouth, and then eat the skin and stuffing, otherwise it will be embarrassing.
If it is summer, the last dish is yogurt, a summer drink as cold as ice cream and as sweet and sour as bayberry. The preparation method is simple: first, stir a spoonful of yogurt evenly, pour it into a small porcelain jar with a diameter of about 30 cm, boil it and air it until it is warm, then pour it into another porcelain jar, and finally cover it and put it on a hot kang, and let it stand for about four or five hours to make yogurt.
