Bad news! Ten billion microplastics were detected in the bottle. Please see if you have this kind of tableware at home.
Since the last article about pollution in microplastics was screened, many girls have been paying attention to environmental protection in the background.

But one voice caught my attention: Will the plastic tableware that our children usually use be polluted by microplastics?

With this question, I was on the news about children's pollution in microplastics.

Unexpectedly, infants and young children are the first people to be threatened by pollution in microplastics.

A study published by the authoritative magazine Nature Food last year showed that:

When standard formula milk powder is brewed in a baby bottle made of polypropylene (PP), a large amount of microplastics will be released.

You know, PP material has always been generally regarded as a kind of food-grade plastic with high safety. At present, more than 80% of the baby bottles on the market are made of PP material.

Many PP lunch boxes on the market even put them in the microwave oven.

It is conceivable that microplastics pollution on plastic tableware has been seriously underestimated by us.

The number of babies exposed to microplastics.

Thousands of times as many as adults.

Many people should have such a question: isn't PP plastic famous for its high temperature resistance?

In fact, the high temperature resistance promoted by merchants mainly refers to heating without deformation, in other words, the melting point of plastic, not that it is safe and healthy enough.

In this study of natural food, the research team strictly follows the mixing method of milk powder recommended by the World Health Organization:

Sterilize the bottle with 95% hot water and air dry it.

Brew milk powder with 70% hot water.

Shake up and down evenly

In this way, the microplastics in the bottle is as high as 654.38+06.2 million capsules per liter.

The higher the temperature, the more microplastics particles are released.

At the same time, the bottle also released trillions of nano-plastics with the size less than 1 micron, so many that researchers finally gave up counting.

According to the survey, the microplastics level of infants under 1 year-old exposed to water, food and air every day is equivalent to 2600 times of the total microplastics intake of adults!

But then again, few bottles on the market now contain bisphenol A, a plastic that seriously interferes with endocrine.

But except some microplastics particles can be removed from the body, others may remain in our body forever, and accumulate over time.

Although there is no sufficient evidence to prove that microplastics has an influence on people, a large number of animal experiments have proved that:

Microplastics with a diameter less than 20 microns can enter the human blood circulation system and accumulate in internal organs, which may cause cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.

As parents, we must not take it lightly.

Therefore, starting today, we may have a brand-new habit of using tableware for children.

How to avoid excessive pollution in microplastics?

Since it is related to the health of children, parents dare not despise it.

So, after consulting all kinds of materials, Ma Bao compiled a guide to avoid pits for everyone, providing some reference for sisters when using children's tableware.

1, look at the material

Although from the perspective of safety, glass tableware is definitely the first choice.

However, it is inevitable that children will bump when they are young, and glass slag may bring higher security risks. For the choice of the above plastics, let's try to choose the one that is resistant to high temperature and corrosion.

How to choose

Regardless of heat resistance, corrosion resistance or cleanliness, our priority in choosing plastics is:

PPSU & gt; PES> Parcel Post

How often do you change it?

The service life of these three plastics is also different, namely:

PP plastic: 4 months

PES plastic: 6 months

PPSU plastic surgery: 6~8 months

PPSU plastic is the plastic with the highest safety level at present, but at the same time, its cost is very high, basically not less than 100 yuan.

2. Avoid foods with high rice temperature.

Take my home as an example, we have tried to avoid using plastic tableware to hold high-temperature food.

Children's plastic cups, the water is cold, pour it in.

Plastic tableware is not allowed to be put into the steamer.

It is particularly important to note that many lunch boxes that claim to be able to be put into the microwave oven should also avoid high-temperature heating for no more than 2 minutes at a time.

Many plastic covers on the lunch box can't be put into the microwave oven! ! ! )

So don't put the freshly cooked food directly into the child's plastic plate and wait until it is cold.

3. Improve the technology of mixing milk powder.

Soak the milk powder in a sterilized non-plastic container, cool it a little, and then put it in a plastic bottle.

Rinse the bottle repeatedly with cold and warm water for more than 3 times, and do not scald the bottle with high-temperature water.

Finally, put the cleaned bottle and nipple on an unused napkin or paper towel to dry naturally. The step of high temperature drying should be avoided as much as possible.

Beware of the invisible killer in life.

Finally, there are some small habits that will make our children live in a world surrounded by microplastics.

1, bottled water

Studies have shown that people who only drink bottled water "may consume 90,000 more plastic particles every year". Common mineral water bottles and soda bottles cannot be recycled for a long time, exposed to the sun or filled with hot water.

The material of this bottle is not heat-resistant. If it exceeds 70, it will deform and may release toxic substances.

2, disposable cups, lunch box

In May last year, the research team of East China Normal University published a study and found that plastic fragments were inadvertently added to the plastic packaging of takeaway and drinking water.

Take-out containers contain an average of 1.2 ~ 38 mg of microplastics, which is very easy to separate. Through simple cleaning, plastic containers will release particles with a size less than 50 nanometers.

That is to say, as long as you pour some cold water into the selling box, microplastics will have melted into the water.

3. Plastic packaging

The plastic wrap on the market is mainly divided into three materials, PVC (polyvinyl chloride), PE (polyethylene) and PVDC (polyvinylidene chloride).

Among them, PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is not resistant to high temperature and cannot be used to package oily foods such as meat and cooked food, so its safety is relatively low.

It is recommended to use PE (polyethylene) and PVDC (polyvinylidene chloride) in daily life.

However, Jiang Xulin, a professor at Wuhan University, pointed out that no matter what kind of plastic wrap, it will decompose toxic substances when heated, so it should be avoided to put plastic wrap in the microwave oven or heat it in other ways.

So, don't put the plastic wrap in the microwave to heat it ~
