Causes and symptoms of otitis media

Otitis media, commonly known as "bad ears", is an inflammation of the tympanic mucosa. The germs enter the tympanic cavity, and when the resistance weakens or the bacterial toxin increases, inflammation will occur, which is manifested as pain in the ear (aggravated at night), fever, aversion to cold, bitter mouth,

Red or yellow urine, constipation, hearing loss, etc. If the eardrum is perforated, pus will flow out of the ear and the pain will be relieved.

It often coexists with chronic mastoiditis. If the treatment in the acute stage is not thorough, it will turn into chronic otitis media. Depending on the body constitution,

climate changes, and pus in the ear, pus will often flow out of the ear, sometimes more and sometimes less, and last for many years. Traditional Chinese medicine calls this disease "ear pus" and "ear chancre", and it is believed to be caused by the prevalence of damp-heat (fire) evil in the liver and gallbladder.

Acute suppurative otitis media is clinically more common in infants and young children, mainly because the passage from the ear to the throat in children -

The Eustachian tube is shorter, thicker and thicker than that of adults. Children are prone to colds and other respiratory diseases. After getting sick, they can easily cause inflammation of the Eustachian tube, and bacteria can enter the middle ear and cause disease. In addition, when children are eating, coughing or vomiting, food should easily enter the middle ear from the Eustachian tube, causing inflammation.

Earache, headache, dizziness, fever, low fever in mild cases, and fever in severe cases, body temperature can be as high as 40℃, which may be accompanied by vomiting, diarrhea, inability to eat and other systemic symptoms . Babies who cannot speak cry and are restless and often scratch their ears. After 1-2 days, the tympanic membrane is perforated and the pus flows out, and symptoms such as ear pain are relieved. If treatment is not timely or thorough, it can easily turn into chronic otitis media.

Chronic suppurative otitis media is commonly known as "stinky ear root". Acute suppurative otitis media cannot be cured in time and is delayed for six weeks.

Chronic suppurative otitis media is defined as chronic suppurative otitis media. Mainly include pus discharge, tinnitus, earache, headache, dizziness, etc. Can be divided into

three types. ① Simple type: Inflammation has not destroyed the bone, and the pus in the ear is mucopurulent or mucopurulent, and has no odor. ②

Necrotic form: The inflammation has invaded the bone, and the discharge in the ear is like cheese (like bean dregs), with a small amount and bloodshot eyes. ③ Biliary lipoma type: Due to long-term stimulation of inflammation, epithelial proliferation is active, and the discharge in the ear is mixed with epithelial desquamation, and yellow

white and foul-smelling oily flakes . The latter two types will cause adverse consequences if not treated in time.
