Shizhu Mountain is located in the southeast of Xingziping Village in Ruyueyu. Looking from the bottom, you can see a steep mountain wall about 100 meters long and 30 meters high, which is composed of stone pillars. Each stone pillar is six-spindle-shaped, about 50 cm in diameter, black and hard, and the stone pillars are uniform, arranged neatly from east to west, and stand upright on the hillside.
Experts say: Shizhu Mountain was formed by volcanic eruption, which ejected ultrabasic rocks about 60 kilometers underground from the surface. Due to the low surface temperature, the bedrock quickly freezes and solidifies, forming a six-spindle-shaped rock pillar. Over time, it has been exposed on a half cliff due to years of flood erosion, forming a natural wonder, which is rare in China and even the world.
