Responsibilities of Xiamen Prison

1. Implement the Prison Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Police Law of the People's Republic of China, punish and reform criminals according to law, educate and work according to law, and organize, lead, inspect and supervise the execution of prison punishment in the whole province.

2. Formulate and organize the implementation of long-term development plans and annual plans for prison work, and promote the construction of modern and civilized prisons.

3. Organize the detention and diversion of criminals according to law; To accept or transmit complaints, accusations and exposures against criminals; To examine and request the suspended execution of death penalty and the commutation of life imprisonment criminals; To guide, inspect and supervise the commutation and parole of criminals in prisons.

4. Deploy, inspect and supervise prisons, strengthen prison management, analyze and predict prison situation and enemy situation, carry out prison reconnaissance, implement safety precautions, and formulate emergency plans to ensure prison stability. Guide and coordinate prisons to strengthen joint defense with resident public security organs and armed police forces stationed in prisons, and deal with major accidents such as criminal riots and major public security incidents in prisons.
