The tiger garter snake is venomous and aggressive towards humans.
The tiger garter snake has venom glands, however, the tiger garter snake is not venomous because its venom glands are not connected to its fangs by a conduit. Its venom does not pass through the fang conduit, but enters the bite victim's wound by other physical means.
The tiger garter snake is highly venomous, and is one of the better known of the varmint snakes to pose a danger to humans. There have been reports of fatal tiger snake bites in Japan. There have also been a number of fatal bites from this species in China.
