Three Gorges Tourism Vocational and Technical College is a full-time general higher vocational college approved by Hubei Provincial People's Government, put on record by the Ministry of Education and sponsored by Yichang Municipal People's Government. It is the only independent public higher vocational college in the province. It is the seat of Yichang Putonghua Testing Center, Yichang Teacher Qualification Training and Certification Center and Yichang Tourism Talent Training Center.
The college is located in Yichang Vocational Education Park, near the East Railway Station and the Passenger Transport Center. It is the core area of Yichang High-tech Zone, covering an area of more than 2,000 mu.
According to the construction standard of "first-class in the province and famous all over the country", the college has fully functional teaching and living facilities and a fresh and pleasant campus environment. It has a modern multimedia teaching system, campus network system, distance education system and network office system, and has built more than 30 experimental training places such as domestic first-class 3D tourism training room, guide microteaching training center, simulated flight attendant training center, simulated hotel training center, simulated exhibition hall, network audio-visual education center and golf training base.
The college offers 37 majors and professional directions such as tourism management, hotel management, tour guide, preschool education, tourism English, flight attendant, cooking technology and nutrition, civil aviation transportation, garden technology, computerized accounting and computer application technology. Among them, the training center of tourism management major is a national key training base funded by the central government, the hotel management major and tour guide major are both supported by the central government, and the preschool education major is China Vocational Education Association and Hubei Vocational Education major. The college has distinctive characteristics and excellent quality. Students have achieved excellent results in previous national and provincial vocational skills competitions and are among the best in similar professional competitions in the province. Yichang Municipal People's Government and HNA Group Co., Ltd. are building a Universities of Applied Sciences-Three Gorges Aviation College, which integrates undergraduate and junior college education, and the college will leap to a new height.
