Qilixiang is a small arbor plant of Rutaceae and Murraya. The common propagation methods of Qilixiang are cutting, sowing and layering. The height of the plant is 12 m, and the color of the trunk and twigs is white gray or yellowish gray, with a little luster, and the branches are green.
Qilixiang culture method
Qilixiang likes loose and fertile soil. It can be mixed with humus soil, garden soil and perlite, and the temperature should be maintained at 20 ~ 32℃. Qilixiang has strict requirements on moisture, so it can follow the principle of seeing dry and wet at ordinary times, and it is not allowed to over-water. Attention should be paid to preventing pests and diseases during the cultivation process.
Watering method
Qilixiang likes to be wet, so it needs to be watered in time during the maintenance period. If it is short of water for a long time, it will lead to the death of Qilixiang, but don't water it too much, otherwise it will be in vain. When the pot soil is always wet, the roots will not be able to absorb oxygen normally, leading to the rot of the roots.
Fertilization method
Qilixiang is mainly fertilized in three growing seasons: spring, summer and autumn. When planting, a little base fertilizer can be added appropriately, and compound fertilizer is mainly applied during the growth period. Topdressing should be done once a week in spring and autumn, once every 3-4 days in summer, and fertilization should be stopped in rainy days and dormancy period.
Pruning method
If you want Qilixiang to be elegant in potted plants, you need to keep topping when the plant is in the seedling stage. When the seedling grows to a height of about 15 cm, you can take off its terminal bud and keep it at a height of about 7 cm. After the terminal bud grows again, you can continue topping and repeat it several times, which can enhance the branching and make the crown full and elegant.
Matters needing attention in Qilixiang culture
Generally, Qilixiang needs to be changed once for 2-3 years, which can be done in spring. When changing pots, it can be combined with root pruning and soil replacement, properly pruning rotten roots and some old roots, and retaining some old soil, so as to ensure that plants can serve pots faster.
