Can you use boiling water to scald glass bottles for making wine?
The glass bottle of wine can be scalded with boiling water. Scalding glass bottles with boiling water can serve to sterilize and disinfect them. Glass bottles used to make wine may have fungus, and bacteria in them. Generally, boiling water for about 30 minutes can kill or inactivate part of the fungus, so that it will lose its pathogenicity. If you sterilize your glass bottles with boiling water, you don't have to worry about bacteria or fungus in them. Be sure to keep the bottle tightly sealed when you make the wine, and make sure to tighten the lid every time you go to get the wine. Otherwise the alcohol will evaporate and the effect will gradually diminish.
