Only the China business of McDonald's was invested and acquired by CITIC, CITIC Capital and Carlyle Group, and became the main franchisee of McDonald's in China and Hongkong in the next 20 years.

On August 8th, 20 17, the strategic cooperation between CITIC, CITIC Capital and Carlyle Investment Group on McDonald's business in China was officially completed. After the acquisition, CITIC and CITIC Capital will hold 52% of the controlling shares of the new company, while Carlyle and McDonald's (Global) will hold 28% and 20% of the shares respectively.

On August 24th, 20 17, industrial and commercial information showed that the name of the investor of McDonald's (China) Co., Ltd. was changed from "McDonald's China Management Co., Ltd." to "Golden Arch China Management Co., Ltd."; McDonald's (China) Co., Ltd. was officially renamed Golden Arch (China) Co., Ltd. on 2010/2.

The name change of McDonald's is mainly at the license level, and its daily business will not be affected. McDonald's will continue to serve consumers warmly, and its restaurant name, food safety standards and operating procedures will remain unchanged.
