Dr. Zhang Zhonghai pointed out that the early manifestation of breast cancer is usually a painless single small lump in the breast, which is hard, unsmooth in surface, unclear in edge and difficult to push. Some patients will have orange peel-like changes in their skin, or their skin will be sunken into dimples. Tumors near the nipple can cause the nipple to sag, flatten, retract and even overflow. Some patients also have axillary lymph node enlargement.

Some rare types of breast cancer are mainly manifested as redness, swelling, heat, pain, thickening and roughness of the skin, or eczema-like changes in nipple itching, burning sensation and areola. Axillary lymph nodes are common sites of early metastasis of breast cancer. Some patients may first have symptoms of axillary lymph node enlargement. Women over 40 years old accidentally find axillary lymph node enlargement, especially those with an increasing trend, so they should be vigilant and see a doctor in time.
