Benefits of mung bean powder
First, mung bean powder has the effects of clearing away heat, detoxifying and eliminating fire.
Second, it can play an antibacterial and bacteriostatic role. ① Some components in mung bean powder have direct bacteriostatic effect. (2) indirectly exert antibacterial effect by improving immune function. Many bioactive substances contained in mung bean powder, such as coumarin, alkaloid, phytosterol and saponin, can enhance the immune function of the body and increase the number of phagocytic cells or phagocytic function.
Third, it can play a role in lowering blood fat. Phytosterol contained in mung bean powder is similar in structure to cholesterol. Phytosterol competes with cholesterol for esterifying enzyme, which makes it unable to esterify and reduces the absorption of cholesterol in intestine, and can reduce the serum cholesterol content by promoting cholesterol alienation and/or preventing cholesterol biosynthesis in liver.
Fourth, it can play an anti-tumor role. Mung bean powder can prevent lung cancer and liver cancer induced by sodium nitrate in mice.
Fifth, it can play a detoxification role. Protein is rich in mung bean powder, which can protect gastrointestinal mucosa if taken orally. Mung bean protein, tannins and flavonoids can combine with harmful substances such as organophosphorus pesticides to form sediments, which reduce or lose toxicity and are not easily absorbed by gastrointestinal tract.
