Historical evolution of Chaozhou prefecture
In the second year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1369), Chaozhou House was changed from Chaozhou Road in Yuan Dynasty to Chaozhou House, which governed Haiyang County (the county seat is now Chaoan District, Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province), and 19 12 was abolished. There were saltworks in Ming and Qing Dynasties. To the east of Fucheng is Guangji Bridge (also known as Xiangzi Bridge, one of the four ancient bridges in China). Chaozhou Prefecture governs eight towns in Chaozhou: Haiyang County (Chaoan County), Chaoyang County, Jieyang County, Chenghai County, Raoping County, Puning County, Huilai County and Fengshun County.

In addition to the above-mentioned eight towns in Chaozhou, dapu county was also an early county where Chaozhou Prefecture was established. However, because its folk customs (Hakka dialect) in the middle and late Qing Dynasty could not communicate with Fucheng (Chaozhou dialect), it was not regarded as one of the eight towns in Chaozhou. The aforementioned nine counties are collectively referred to as "Chaozhou Nine Counties". In addition, there is now Nan 'ao County, which was first established in the Republic of China. Originally under the jurisdiction of Fujian and Guangdong provinces, it was not established during the Chaozhou government period. In the third year of Qing Qianlong, Haiyang, Jieyang and Tai Po were divided into three counties, and Fengshun County was located at the same place, belonging to Chaozhou Prefecture.

Chaozhou is the land of Fujian and Vietnam. Since Qin and Han Dynasties, Chaozhou was divided into South Vietnam in order to weaken Fujian and Vietnam. The geographical encyclopedia of the Northern Song Dynasty, Yu Di Guang Ji, records Chaozhou as the land of Fujian. The official book of the Ming Dynasty "Yongle Grand Ceremony": "Chaozhou Prefecture is a local official, but it is a local official, and its language is very erotic, which is quite similar to that of Fujian Sixia Prefecture. Most of the dialects spoken by Guang (Zhou), Hui (Zhou) and Mei (Zhou) cannot be translated, but Haifeng of Hui is close to the tide sound and has different pronunciations, from Chaozhou to Meizhou. " It once belonged to South Vietnam and Fujian Vietnam respectively. In the thirty-third year of Qin Shihuang (2 14), South Vietnam was pacified. Counties, belonging to Minzhong County and Nanhai County respectively, were included in the territory, but at this time, there were few Han people in Shantou, Chaozhou today in the Tang Dynasty, and the number of Han people increased rapidly since the late Tang Dynasty. Ding Yuan in the Western Han Dynasty (before 1 1 1) belonged to Jieyang County, Nanhai County. The earliest establishment of Chaozhou House began in the sixth year of Xianhe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (33 1), and it was located in Dongguan County in the eastern South China Sea and in Yixi in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (4 13). This Ian is the predecessor of Chaozhou dialect. In 523 AD, Nanliang was divided into East Yangzhou and Fujian. During the Southern Dynasties, Chen continued to be stationed in East Yangzhou and Fujian. In the eleventh year of Emperor Wendi, in 590 AD, Yi 'an County established a state named Chaozhou, which was under the jurisdiction of Yi 'an County. In the 12th year of Sui Dynasty (AD 592), it was assigned to Fujian.

In the third year of Zhenguan in the Tang Dynasty, it was once again assigned to Fujian in 629 AD, which was under the jurisdiction of Jiangnan Road. In the second year of the Tang Dynasty (AD 686), Zhangzhou was established in the south of Gequan House (Quanzhou House is located in today's Fuzhou at this time, and Quanzhou was finally established in the Tang Dynasty for a long time (AD 700), and it was abolished several times before) and a small part of Chaozhou. In the second year of Tang Jingyun, in 7 1 1 year, it was once again incorporated into Fujian, and Chaozhou successively belonged to Fuzhou Dudufu, Fujian Dudufu, Fujian Jingtuan and Fujian Observation History. In the first year of Tianbao, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty (742), the whole country changed the state into a county, so Chaozhou was renamed Chaoyang County. In the tenth year of the Tang Dynasty, 75 1 year, the jurisdiction of Jiangnan Road was changed to Lingnan Road. It was not until the first year of Gan Yuan, Tang Suzong (758) that it was renamed Chaozhou again. At this point, the name of Chaozhou has been completely finalized.

Chaozhou is now under the jurisdiction of Haiyang County (later renamed Chaoan) and Raoping County.

Jieyang City now governs Puning City, Jieyang County and Huilai County.

At present, Shantou City has jurisdiction over Chaoyang County and Chenghai County (19 14 when Nan 'ao County was established in the Republic of China, and Raoping County had jurisdiction when Chaozhou Prefecture was not established).

Among them, Long 'ao (Future House Town) is under the jurisdiction of Raoping County, Chaozhou District, Guangdong Province. In the fifth year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1526), Raoping County was renamed "Tai Po" after the establishment of Qingyuan and other two counties.
