Living habits: Elephant turtles are subtropical terrestrial turtles, mainly living in high humidity forests. Love warmth, fear cold. When the ambient temperature is 22-33℃, the activity and food intake of the elephant turtle are large, and when it is 17-20℃, it only eats a small amount of food, and the activity is not large. No matter how low the temperature is, there are hibernating turtles that are docile and suitable for group reproduction and polyculture, but there is a phenomenon of grabbing food. I don't like strong sunlight very much. If I put them outdoors, I should pay attention to the time when they are directly exposed to the sun. If it takes more than 30 minutes, they may be dehydrated. The exposure time of young turtles in the sun should not exceed 10 minute. Shaded areas must be provided.
Feeding habits: I like to eat fruits, vegetables and lean meat under artificial feeding conditions, such as vegetable leaves, apples, watermelons, grapes, tomatoes, bananas, lean meat and snails. Elephant turtles are more sensitive to red than white, and like to eat red food, such as tomatoes. It is suggested that the diet should be mainly vegetables, supplemented by fruits and animal protein. I especially drink water, so the water supply needs to be very sufficient.
