However, the Qing soldiers set up guard posts to prevent others from bringing food to Li Xiucheng, so the farmer picked wormwood and went home to pack jiaozi, mixed it in the grass, and escaped the sentry. Li Xiucheng also ate jiaozi and returned to the base camp safely. Later, Li Xiucheng ordered the Taiping Army to learn to be a youth league to protect itself against the enemy, so the youth league spread like this.

Custom: Youth League is a traditional snack in the south of the Yangtze River. It is blue, mixed with wormwood juice into glutinous rice flour, and then wrapped with bean paste or lotus seed paste. It is not sweet or greasy, and has a faint but long grass fragrance.
