Squid and ray are not the same kind of fish. Devil fish is the collective name of the animal kingdom, chordates, cartilaginous fish and manta rays, and its scientific name is manta rays. It is named because there are two prominent head fins in front of its head, which look like "devil's horns".

Rays are the general names of the animal kingdom, chordates, cartilaginous fishes and suborder marine fishes. There are about 20 families, 54 genera and 430 species in the world. Taxonomically speaking, the devil fish is a ray, but the ray is not necessarily a devil fish.

The difference between rays and devil fish

For example, their fins are very different. Rays have tail fins and a big tail. They also have dorsal fins. But devil fish don't have these two fins. They have head fins and snout fins.

3. Body shape difference: Rays and devil fish are also different in body shape. Rays are smaller than devil rays, and the older ones are only about 2.5 meters in adulthood. The devil fish will be much bigger, and the larger devil fish will be about 8 meters long in adulthood.
