Kuo Feng (1933-2006), formerly known as Guo Shaoming, was a native of Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province. He was a famous Taiwanese poet, literary critic and publisher, as well as a writer with a strong sense of nationalism and tradition. When he was in high school, he came to the attention of the literary world for his long narrative poem "The North" published in Baodao Literature and Art, and from 1950 onwards, Kuo Feng became a major contributor to publications such as China Literature and Art and Ta Kung Pao.
