When Kate is ripe, the mango's skin is yellow, the sunny side and shoulder are red, and the flesh is orange, delicate, with few fibers and a sweet, juicy flavor.
Kate is an imported mango variety. It originated in Florida, U.S.A. In 1995, it was introduced by Israeli experts for trial planting in Yanbian County, Panzhihua, and in 1997, a large number of branches and seedlings were introduced from the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences (CATAS) for demonstration and popularization.
