Qingtiankui, also known as geranium hirsutum, geranium striga, pearl grass, and false gastrodia elata, is a plant of the Orchidaceae genus. The leaves or bulbous leaves are used medicinally. It has the effects of clearing away heat and detoxifying, moistening the lungs and relieving cough, strengthening the spleen and removing accumulation, sedating and analgesic, dispersing phlegm and reducing swelling; it can treat tuberculosis, hemoptysis, cough due to lung heat, bronchitis, epigastric pain, acute pharyngitis, pulmonary stomatitis in children, and bruises. , sores and other diseases.
Qingtiankui is a precious Chinese herbal species that has long been in short supply and has high economic value. Over the years, in addition to supplying domestic needs, it has also been exported to Hong Kong, Macau Special Administrative Region of China and Southeast Asian countries. So far, we still rely on harvesting wild resources. Due to the special environment required for its growth, wild resources are scattered and difficult to collect. When harvesting, people often dig out the bulbs and leaves that can be used for reproduction in the next year. Therefore, Qingtiankui resources are increasingly depleted. The purchase volume is declining year by year, and resource protection and artificial cultivation of Qingtiankui are urgent.
Mainly produced in Guangxi, Guangdong and other provinces and autonomous regions, and also distributed in Thailand.
