Men, women, old and young can be infected with the disease, and it is common. Unilateral, can also affect both hands. The condition of blisters and peeling worsens in summer, and cracking and pain are obvious in winter. It starts with blisters on the palms or between the fingers or keratinization and desquamation of the skin on the palms. The blisters are often as transparent as crystals and the itching is unbearable. After the blisters rupture, they dry up, pile up with white flakes, heal in the center, and cause herpes around them, and can extend to the back of the hands and wrists. If it occurs repeatedly, the skin of the palms will become thick, dry and cracked, painful, and difficult to flex and extend, like a goose's paw. If it invades the nails, it can cause onychomycosis (onychomycosis). The course of goose palm wind is chronic and recurring. Tinea manuum mostly comes from scratching, direct contact infection such as tinea pedis, tinea cruris and tinea capitis, or the spread of tinea unguium and tinea corporis on the back of the hands. The main pathogen of tinea manuum is Trichophyton rubrum. Accounting for about 55.6%, followed by Trichophyton gypsum, accounting for about 22.7%. Candida albicans can also cause the same damage as tinea manuum. Airtight clothing can increase the local temperature and humidity of the skin and interfere with the barrier function of the stratum corneum. After Trichophyton rubrum and Trichophyton mentagrophytes invade the skin, they go through several stages of development, including an incubation period, growth during the fight against infection, and a regression stage. It grows in the stratum corneum during the incubation period and has mild clinical manifestations. Once infection is established, the rate of growth of Trichophyton and Trichophyton mentagrophytes and the rate of epidermal turnover are two critical factors in the development of lesions. The two must be equal or the former is greater than the latter, otherwise the numbers of Trichophyton and Trichophyton mentagrophytes will decline. Keratinase and other proteolytic enzymes produced by Trichophyton and Trichophyton mentagrophytes not only cause colonization and invasion of the skin, but also cause skin damage.
