Potato cultivation techniques and planting methods.

Potatoes are not suitable for continuous cropping. In order to ensure the growth, yield and quality of potatoes, it is best to choose plots where potatoes have not been planted for nearly 2-3 years. In addition, we should choose sandy land with loose and permeable soil, deep and fertile soil layer and high organic matter content, which is more conducive to the development and expansion of underground potato pieces and to improving the later yield.

When sowing potatoes, put the seed buds upward and evenly sow them, then cover the potato seeds with thin soil about 5- 10 cm, cover them with film or straw, and then water them to keep them moist. Potatoes should be watered as far as possible from emergence to flowering. If the growth and conditions of potatoes permit, it is suggested that potatoes should be treated with water control and squatting at this stage. When the potatoes grow to the early flowering stage, they should be watered in time.

Matters needing attention in potato planting

In the process of potato growth, if necessary, topping can be used to restrain the crazy or vain growth of the seedlings, so that the seedlings can grow stronger and the potatoes can grow bigger. In addition, it is necessary to ensure good lighting and ventilation, otherwise the plants may grow luxuriantly, but the potatoes produced are very small.

When watering potatoes during their growth, you can stick your fingers into the soil to confirm the dryness of the soil, then water them after drying, and usually keep them slightly moist. Keeping it too wet all the time is prone to rot of potato tubers or roots.
