One year during the Ching Ming Festival, Chen Taiping was arrested and rescued by the farmers, the Qing soldiers did not capture Chen Taiping, so the additional soldiers set up a guard to prevent villagers from bringing food to Chen Taiping.

One day the farmer stepped on the mugwort and slipped on it, and saw his hands stained with a greenish color. He hurriedly picked the mugwort, washed and boiled it, squeezed the juice, kneaded it into the glutinous rice flour, made it into rice dumplings, put the dumplings in the green grass, and mixed it with the sentries at the entrance of the village. The custom of eating green dumplings was then spread.

Moral: Green dumplings have the meaning of honoring ancestors and reunion.
