Where is the Xianheng Hotel written by Lu Xun?

The Xianheng Hotel written by Lu Xun is located at the east end of Duchangfangkou in Shaoxing City.

The origin of the name: "Xian" means capital, "Heng" means success, and "Xianheng" is the blessing of "everyone goes well". The shop owner took the word "Xianheng" as the name of the shop from the sentence "Hong Hong Da Guang Da, Tao Wu Xian Heng" in "Tuan Zhuan" in "Book of Changes. Kun Gua", which means that the hotel's business is prosperous and everything goes well.

Historical evolution:

1. In the Jiawu Year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1894 AD), Lu Xun's uncle Zhou Zhongxiang and others opened a small hotel in Duchangfangkou in Shaoxing City. Mr. Lu Xun used Xianheng Hotel as an important background in famous novels such as "Kong Yiji", "The Storm" and "Tomorrow", making Xianheng Hotel famous at home and abroad. But it ended after a few years.

2. In 1981, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Mr. Lu Xun, the old store was newly opened. The architectural style of Shaoxing in the late Qing Dynasty remains the same as before; a store plaque with black characters on a white background is hung in the middle of the lower edge of the house, with the four characters "Xianheng Hotel" written horizontally. There is a curved cabinet on the street, with a Qinglong plaque with "Taibai Legacy" written directly on the end of the cabinet. Under the plaque, there is a celadon altar and a blue-rimmed bowl, forming a unique style.

3. After 1991, the inheritors of Xianheng Hotel looked for the soil for the brand to take root in Mr. Lu Xun’s works. Through brand innovation and management innovation, they cultivated core competitiveness and made Xianheng Hotel a hotel with traditional style and characteristics of the times. It is a famous store that integrates famous cities, famous people and famous wines. Countless Chinese and foreign tourists come here to have a drink, sing songs over wine, recite poems and paint. When the famous writer Li Zhun was drunk, he left the following words: "A small store is famous for its great reputation" , the exclamation that old wine makes many people drunk"; the famous cartoonist Hua Junwu wrote "Wine meets Xian Heng and a thousand cups are too few." Xianheng Hotel is both a hotel and an attraction. Together with Lu Xun’s former residence, Baicao Garden, Sanwei Bookstore, Tugu Temple and other cultural relics, it together constitutes the original key to interpreting Lu Xun

4. November 25, 2007, After years of careful planning, construction of the Xianheng Xintiandi Project, Phase II of Lu Xun’s Hometown, a key business and tourism project in Shaoxing City, has started.
