Gulangyu Island is in the Siming District of Xiamen.

Gulangyu Island (Kulangsu) was originally known as "Round Shazhou", alias "Yuanshouzai", in the Southern Song Dynasty was named "Wulongyu", the Ming Dynasty renamed "Gulangyu", is located in the southwest corner of Xiamen, Fujian Province, an area of southwest of Xiamen. Gulangyu Island is located in the southwest corner of Xiamen City, Fujian Province, with an area of about 1.88 square kilometers and a subtropical oceanic monsoon climate. The island has a green area coverage of more than 40%, rich plant species, and a combination of historical, cultural and natural landscapes.
