Zhilanzhai dry cakes began at 1928, and the founder Xiao Fei once sold dry cakes in the name of Zhilanzhai in Zhuangzi Street. This kind of food is cheap and delicious, and most people eat it in the first month of the lunar calendar. The difference between Zhilanzhai dry cake and Tianjin Yangcun dry cake is that the latter has no fillings, while the former is supplemented with fillings such as bean paste, sugar, red fruit and pineapple in the production process. Sprinkle with dried pine nuts, melon seeds, walnuts, green and red silk and other seasonings. In 1950s, in the capitalist industrial and commercial transformation movement, Fei Xiaozeng took the lead in public-private partnership and merged with a nearby snack bar, whose name was still called "Zhilanzhai". During the "Cultural Revolution", Fei Xiaozeng was hit, and Zhilanzhai existed in name only. After the reform and opening up, in order to save the traditional cuisine, the former Hedong District Catering Company invited Fei Xiaozeng to select apprentices for him, allocate funds to renovate the facade, rebuild Zhilanzhai and revitalize traditional cuisine. With the support of the superior company and the expectation of the masses, Fei Xiaozeng taught his disciples the production technology of dried cakes without reservation, and improved the technology with his disciples, developing the dried cakes in Zhilanzhai from a single variety to six series varieties to meet the tastes of different people. As an exclusive food in China, the company also applied for the patent of Zhilanzhai dry cake.
Zhilanzhai dry cake has been rated as Tianjin quality food year after year: 1987 won the quality trophy of "Star Cup" food competition; 1988 was recommended by Tianjin Commercial Committee as one of the "Four Musts" of Jinmen flavor food, participated in the first National Food Expo and won the bronze medal together with other "Three Musts"; 1990 During the 11th Asian Games, Zhilanzhai was invited to Beijing to demonstrate the production, sales and tasting for friends from all over the world, which was well received.
