Bananas, also called apple bananas in China, are native to Ryukyu Islands, and may be wild in Taiwan Province Province of China. They can also be cultivated in the open field south of Huaihe River in Qinling Mountains, mostly near gardens and farmhouses.
Banana pulp, flowers, leaves and roots are rich in trace elements such as sugar, amino acids, cellulose, minerals, selenium and various compounds, which are homologous in medicine and food and rich in nutrition. The researchers used water extraction, alcohol extraction and petroleum ether extraction to conduct qualitative experiments on the chemical components of banana roots. The water extract contains protein, amino acids, saccharides, organic acids, saponins and other substances.
