The fishing ground is located at the bottom of coastal rocky reefs or sandy mud and gravel bottom waters. The fishing gear structure is mainly composed of cage frame, net clothing, inverted whiskers, fish mouth, mouth door and trunk line, branch line, cage rope, mouth-tying rope, buoy rope, anchor cable, sinker rope and buoy, iron anchor, sinker, strut (folding) and other accessories. The trunk lines are connected with each other to form a net train, and the trunk lines at the head and tail ends of the net train are connected with an iron anchor and a buoy respectively through an anchor cable and a buoy rope, and the length of the buoy rope depends on the water depth. When the bait in the cage is shellfish flesh, the main fishing targets are hexaplophora hexaplophora and Silurus hsuei, and other small fish are also caught; When the bait is fish flesh, it mainly catches crabs and hermit crabs. The number of cages cast depends on the horsepower of fishing boats or the fishing grounds. After the fishing boat arrives at the fishing ground, the cage is put in cross-flow or eccentric flow. First throw the anchor and buoy at the end of the net array, then put the cage into the water in sequence, and tie the sinker and buoy on the trunk line according to the distance. After laying, throw the tail anchor and buoy, and the fishing boat can wait or leave nearby. Fish cage operations are mostly carried out in the daytime, and crab cage operations are mostly carried out in the evening and at night. The lifting time of the fish cage is uncertain, and it is usually carried out in advection or slow current. First, the buoy is fished out to pull out the end anchor, and the cage is pulled out to the boat with the wind, and the tie rope is untied, and the catch is poured out, and the cage is put back in place. Crab cages are usually lifted in the early morning of the second day, and the operation is the same as that of fish cages. Simple fish cage

Bottle fish cage

Plastic bottles can be used to make effective fish cages to catch small fish. The joint between the bottle neck and the bottle barrel is cut, and the upper half of the bottle neck is turned around and inserted into the bottle barrel. Small fish can swim into the bottle from the bottle mouth, but they can't get out. You can put bait in the bottle to lure them. Hollow wooden cages can be made into similar bottle-type fish cages to catch big fish. The inward inclined network skeleton is used as the entrance, and the bottom of the cage is closed.

Wicker fish cage

Choose young branches of wicker or other flexible branches-scalded bamboo sticks are also easy to bend-to make fish cages where fish can get in and out. Wicker fish cages allow running water to pass freely, and they are made of natural materials, such as reeds or ruins at the bottom of streams. It is very convenient to weave a barrel fish cage with wicker. The entrance of the fish cage faces the current and is placed in the stream. At first, the opening was quite wide, which made it easy for fish to swim into the cage, while the crossed wicker at the end of the entrance prevented the fish from escaping. The basket cage uses an annular wooden board for wicker insertion and is fixed and shaped. But fish cages can be made without boards. The bait suspended in the cage can attract eels, crayfish and other creatures.
